Morning everyone, what a weekend we have had! Had some inner ear problems yesterday 50 miles into a 200 mile trip, cause severe dizziness and could not continue on. Great friends Nana, Mike Kwputt and Vicki helped to get me to an emergency care center and then back to hotel. Thank you all, attached is a picture of friends finding each other in a new way, lmao!

Well I hope you are OK now Bill!!!! I had an inner ear infection several years go that really screwed up my balance for a few days!!! What a strange feeling... Sure am glad you had good friends there to help you out!! Get well my friend and we'll hopefully see you later.

Janice knows how you feel, she has vertigo and it is no fun. She has had it for several years now and at times, it really kicks in. I have to watch how I drive the trike because sudden turns effects her so she gets sick.
Glad you are doing better and we will see you in a short while in Vermont.
Hope All TT Land is having a great day. Fly safe Bozo!

Hey Rosy - aren't you suppose to have a wrench in your hand instead of setting in front of the computer???? :D:D:D

I had to take a another break from the Eureka Springs videos. My youngest brother got stranded by his Street Glide so I had to hitch up the trailer and haul his butt home. He thinks it's battery. He called a few minutes ago and said there was a loose negative terminal bolt so hopefully some time on the charger and all will be well again...

OH, let me know what you think about the risers... :xszpv: :xszpv:

Today's high 100 degrees, tomorrow 102....and I have to finishing caulking and painting the entire trim on my house, put a second coat of textured concrete paint on the back patio, replace and paint some rotted facia board, replace all 5 squirrel chewed lead roof vent pipe covers, spray the roof with mildew killer (house is under large Oak trees) and that's just on the outside. It's hot as Hades outside and I'm sweating like a _____________! Taking a break before I pass out from heat stroke.

What did you use to spray the roof for mildew ??? I got some stuff at Home Depot, $28.99 a bottle :AGGHH:Dang. it connects to water hose and you spray it on. Been over a week and I don't see any difference.

Sounds similar to stuff I got from Lowes. It's made by Bayer and connects to a hose. Its called Bayer Liquid Moss and Algae Control. Its was $15.44 for a 32oz bottle. Got a feeling it works slow if at all. I've actually got moss growing on my roof, not just mildew. The green stuff!

The majority of asphalt shingle discoloring is algae. It can be black algae or green roof moss. Even if you spray it with a chemical it will return.

The best and least expensive way to kill algae is with Bleach. 50/50 water mix. You can kill roof moss with 10% white vinegar. Never stand on the roof where the chemical is. It's slippery.

The algae will come back and continue to eat your roof shingles. Yes, it feasts on your shingles and eventually will destroy them. So will roof moss.

To save your roof shingles you can take copper or zinc strips and install them at the top roof line of your shingles. As the rain water passes over the copper or zinc oxidation molecules will attach to the water and continue to kill the algae. A bit expensive but it works. Depending on how tall/long/pitched your roof is you many need several strips as the oxidation only travels a few yards with rain water.

Roof shingle manufactures are impregnating new roofing materials with copper and zinc to prevent algae and moss growth. Cha-ching

Thanks, i was thinking of using a bleach mix, but wasn't sure the effect on the shingles. ThumbUp

Thanks Mr. Wizard! Noticed that we've been getting this since Hurricanes Irene and Sandy passed through. Our neighbors roof is a disaster. Will give your suggestions a try.
