If you see this trike in Eureka Springs next week it is because the GL1800 Parts Gods have smiled on yours truly. A week ago last Saturday while on a ride my starter solenoid (starter relay switch B in service manual) died. Stopped for gas and had to push start. Thank goodness it starts easy!
I got back home OK and checked out everything in the start circuit. Found the relay and reverse regulator assembly not reading what I thought so I pulled both out so I could check further. Relay was toast for sure and regulator was suspect so I shot off an order for both. TT/TOI Reunion time is getting really close you understand and I HATE to do maintenance this close to trip time but ya do what ya gotta do.... Now these parts do not fail frequently enough to justify the parts place stocking them. That means they had to be shipped from the Honda warehouse in California to dealer in Georgia then on to me here in Texas all in just nine days. :AGGHH::AGGHH: My friendly FedEx man put a package in my hand at 10:20 this morning. By 12:30 parts were in and functional check completed.
Now it was time to get serious about trip preparation so I hooked up the trailer to make sure lights still worked and then went out and pulled it around for a while. Trike and trailer seem to be in unison and far as I can tell Friday morning I’ll be headed to Eureka Springs!!!! To quote our fearless leader, aka: ZOOK, YEE-HAWWWW !!!!! :xszpv::xszpv:
OH, the bit about the Roads is just to let you all know to watch out for Gold GL1800s......
SEE Y'ALL THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
