New Harley Tri Glide

I just traded my 2010 TG in for a 2014 TG. I couldn't help myself to buy it. I like the water cooled exhaust tips, and the sand and pearl color. I hope the heat problem is fixed otherwise will be buying new exhaust from VH removing the Cat. That is what I did with the 2010 and it was the best thing I did.

It is being delivered today.

I own a 2013 tri glide, did the tuner, new pipes, mufflers air cleaner, runs very cool after that. I would be very interested if you have to do that to the new ones or not.Hope you like it.

The 2010 model after replacing the exhaust and removing that darn cat was the best thing I ever done to that trike. It was expensive for the parts, dyno, and all but well worth it. I am sure it will have to be done to the 2014 but maybe I will get lucky.

Congrats on your new ride. I am going to wait until the 2015's come out and then see what they did to improve them. if they do not make any big changes i will just keep riding my 2007 as i am happy with it and will save my money.

Congrats on your new Trike. I bought mine back in Sept. I live in Ohio but trailered the trike to Florida in late October for four days. Did not notice any heat problems but I am changing out the pipes this spring. I already have purchased the VH Dresser Duals and 4" Reinharts along with a Harley stage one air cleaner and HD Super Tuner. When the weather breaks off to the dealer it goes to have this stuff put on and tuned. I can't wait to hear the exhaust. I traded in an 2012 Road Glide ultra and had the reinharts on it and it sounded great. I noticed with the stock exhaust on the trike with the 10:1 compression pistions that it sounds deeper so I can only imagine how it will sound with the new exhaust.

I drove the new triglide with the outside temps at 60 degrees and the heat wasn't real bad. I am sure I will have to change over to a new exhaust removing the cat.

I also noticed that they did away with oil pressure gauge.

I have idiot lights for both oil press and water temp. Harley Davidson put a big display for the radio and GPS. What happened to common sense. I am old school and prefer to have the gauges versus the radio. I guess it's a new generation of engineers. I am already looking into handle-bar miniature gauges for oil pressure and water temp.

Otherwise the trike drives good and handles good. My wife likes it and I guess that is what's important.

later...........Mark

You are right. Thank you. I am not used to pushing buttons to see oil pressure. Their is oil pressure, air temp that is it on the display. No water temp.

I guess I should read owners manual before running my mouth. Tomorrow the wife and I are going to take our first ride together. I'm sure it will be fun. Thanks for the info. ........Mark
