On Saturday febuary 22, 2014 JOY died in an accident, she suffered. her entire right side was destroyed. her front end was crushed and her right cylinder head cover was ripped off. she sustained damage to her rear fender and bent only a lower control arm in her rear end. YES my DFT rear end is repairable and reuse able. Her useable parts will be up for sale in the classified soon. including her trunk complete. please help with purchasing what you can, I need the money. As for me I am severely injured, I have a concussion, a skull fracture, a brain bleed, torn muscles in my neck, a fractured left eye socket, broken rib, my back is raw from bruise and rash. I am bruised from head to toe. I am alone and have no one to care for me. I will post her picture as I get one. :xzqxz:

Sorry about your ride, but you are more important! Just take care and get better. You are on my prayer list.....

Only a week & you're already out & about? You are a tough lady. Good on you, will keep you in thoughts/prayers for a complete recovery, Physical & Fiscally!

Wow, hope you get well soon. I'll say the inconsiderate who turned into you sure did a number on your poor trike.

Speedy & Complete Recovery-Strength & Comfort for You ThumbUp
God will take care of that.

The Trike & money can be replaced and Justice served .
The Attorney will take care of those lesser things ;)

My lord girl what a loss, I wish you a speedy recovery.
Having built your trike yourself makes it an even bigger loss.
I hope insurance kicks in and helps you replace your trike
and justice kicks in and helps your own recovery.

My Lord...
How unfortunate for your trike but how fortunate for you in that you survived what looks like a spectacular crash. I also will pray that you have a complete and full recovery. Get well soon and please keep us posted as to your progress.

I was in your shoes 7+ years ago.
I proved I cant fly on my own.
I guess Im not Superman after all.

Get well take your time healing up.
The trike can be replaced you cant.
Be well and just dust it off as an experience you will never want to repeat.
Me Im thankful.
I have no memory of my accident what so ever.
I was knocked out for a bit over 3 hours.
9 months later got back on the bike with a little help haven't been off of one since.

Time does heal most wounds.
So please take the time you need to.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sorry for the trike. I know you had a great attachment to her. Heal quick. As far as a lawyer, most personal injury lawyers work on getting paid only if they win your case. They take a percentage. The more they get for you the more they get for themselves. Try to find one that deals in motorcycle crashes. Good luck.

I'm healing slowly a little more each day. As the swelling goes down I feel better. Still have rash and broken bones healing. it amazes me what they did not do at the hospital. they don't fix ribs or trans verse fracture of the spine. they also no longer sew rash holes in the skin. They call it wound care now. lots of daily bandages and Silva dine cream.
My head will by far be the longest to heal. I am kind of glad I don't remember an entire week, not any of it. I stopped remembering at the hit.

my memory is still patchy I just now remembered I wrote a post and decided to check on it. I guess it was the writing exercise that stimulated a memory. I sort of wish I could remember something but I think I'm better off not knowing this time.

yes I'm an old triker I rode a trike because I could not ride 2 wheels any more, not my first rodeo. by far the worst I have been hurt. might be my last getting old now.

thank you for the best wishes as I hope things work out for the better as well. I have no idea what happens next your prayers are welcome and appreciated.

For those that are wondering I'm getting better slowly.

Thanks for asking

My back muscles are severely injured and still bruised deep. my broken bones are healing but still very sore.

it is looking more like I severely damaged my ears as dizziness won't go away. It is likely I knocked fluid out of my balance canals. I definitely got both ears. It is also very possible I blew out my ear drums.

could not ride right now even if I wanted to STUFF.

let you know more after I see ear doc.

my head still feels like it's being squeezed like a sponge.

I'm going to need rehab on my back and balance rehab for my ears.

yeee haaa fun fun fun now that daddy took the trike away.

Re: Announcing the death of JOY my trike/ UPDATE

I was right what do you know even broken and delirious I'm still a great mechanic. I now have JOY up on jacks and have been able to get a better look. I had some help and was able to get her on jacks.

The rear end has a bent lower control arm. the drive shaft was pushed back and bent the rear shock. The sway bar was push through the bushings and is undamaged. The drive shaft appears to be undamaged other than some scratch's. On the upper fender mount bar the right side bolt was pulled out.

so a bent control arm, a bent shock, and a pulled out bolt. All repairable things easy and quick.

I LOVE MY DFT REAR END.

Damn, not even a month since the first post, and you're out there working/assessing the trike. I wish we could bottle & sell determination like that to some of the younger crowd. You go Girl.

...And still best wishes & prayers for a full recovery.

I second that. A real inspiration to us all.

Thank you for the good words and encouragement. :)

I'm still way hurt and needed a lot of help. but it had to start some where. at least I'm the one doing it to her.

But my eyes work and why role over and die. If it's broke fix it. Gotta get it ready for new donor. ThumbUp

I totally agree about younger people. :xzqxz:

Well possible bad news the only insurance money I will get is from the other driver who had liability insurance 10,000-30,000. I will have to pay back most to medi-care so the means what is left goes to the lawyer. it look like I'm done I have no money to buy another goldwing with and no money to repair what I got.

so I will be selling my DFT rear end that will fit any year goldwing up to 2013. with tires and wheels. it will need a right side lower control arm and shock. I will fix the damaged fender support hole. it will come with all support bars and exhaust parts. I would be willing to trade for 150cc to 300cc 3 wheeled scooter.

It has been fun be a triker but I seems my time is over thank you all for being there for me. II will still post from time to time but my trike is going to be parted out in full.

Ok panic time is over now. I had limited info that looked bad for me and have since learned better.
I will get something from the settlement. I may not be able to replace complete bike. I do have an option to repair what I got. I found a parts bike and can get most of what I need from that.

it may take awhile to fix it completely but I will still own my TRIKE JOY and she will live again some how.

I could use a little emotional support though this though. I'm hurt and not very knowledgeable about these things.

it looks like I'm going to learn how to lay fiberglass. I would love some lessons if any one out there in las vegas can help with that.
