Announcing the death of JOY my trike

I have been through a similar time ( 5 broken ribs and shoulder on my left side )and IMO you are doing the best thing by getting active. good therapy for the body and mind.

trike talk and the "e how "site on the internet are great resources for the repair work that you can do.

I had a good local painter do my finish work but the rest I was able to do on my own (with a little help).

my thoughts and prayers are with you. by all means keep riding as long as you can

I think I found a donor I might be able to afford. It was in a fire and some parts are not there. other damaged parts I have intact or mostly intact. still going to need top cover. I will take any color. my parts are black and the donor is white. I have real hope here that I will repair joy at least. :clapping:

It will literally require me to blend a 2008 into a 2002 and make one new trike out of them. :xzqxz:

I understand they are different but most of the different parts burned and I will use the parts off mine instead. My electronics will be compatible with my electronics. :xzqxz: also my wiring. not an issue. lots of work though, therapy?

Well therapy may be on hold? I will still purchase donor when able. :xzqxz:

I just found out that the hospital miss diagnosed my right pinky finger. I had no reason to believe anything was wrong with it. :xzqxz:

I just came from the hand doctor and I have a spiral non union fracture just behind the rear joint in my finger. it is broken clear through and i have to be operated on. I will lose the use of my right hand for 2+ months.

I guess I get to sue the hospital, the emergency room doctor, and my GP doctor. my finger was open I exposed the knuckle its in the report. they sewed it closed and did not see my finger was broken clean through.

Even worse than that I have a radiology report that says my right hand was intact. I have the original X-ray and it has an obvious broken finger. :xzqxz:  :AGGHH:
Hope is a fabulous thing.:clapping:

Joy may still live again pray for joy

I dont know the laws where you live but is it possible for your lawyer to sue the uninsured motorists side of your policy to make up the difference in your case? I had a relative who was almost killed as a passenger in a car crash and the driver only had $20,000. worth of coverage. My cousins lawyer went after the uninsured coverage on my cousins policy and was able to get a substantial sum to help him and his wife.

thanks for the idea but it holds no water sorry. there is none of that I'm poor and had basic 50-100 no extras. if I was rich and had all that joy would be healed by now.

thanks any way.

lets all pray for joy that she gets healed.

please also pray my finger heals.

:xzqxz: well I had the surgery on my finger and I'm ok but one handed now as I have that cast I expected on my right hand. my 20 minute surgery turned into 4 hours with complications. I am having trouble with my malpractice suit as the doctor says I have one. the attorney says it the accidents fault. it's been 10 weeks and I almost lost my finger. it lost more than 1 cm in length due to bone deteriation and secondary damage. I now have a fake bone graph in my finger and months of immobilization to look forward to. then lots of physical therapy.

how can it be the accidents fault that the hospital told me my finger was not broken. that the doctor that sewed it closed and had to push my broken finger back in and still said no broken finger. I'm very confused and upset about this.

thank you for listeningThumbUp

Re: Announcing the death of JOY my trike/ I'm healed

it's a miracle I'm healed and released from my doctors. I have a broken finger, a bad ankle and back issue all undiagnosed and only my finger is being treated. but I'm healed and no longer broken. :xzqxz::mad::(

can we please go back to the old health system were they actually fixed you? I don't like this new system were they are only concerned with you being stable and figure it out for yourself good luck. then you are magically healed. :gah::gah::gah:

real hope as I talked to my attorney and I'm going to get all of the vehicle part of the case. I will be able to fix some things at my house, pay my attorney, and have some left over for repairs.

:clapping: :clapping::clapping:
right now its not enough for a low miles donor.

but I will be able to make progress and if I find another parts bike I can use with a running motor than I'm all good i'll just make one out of 2 like I had planned to do. :pepper::pepper::pepper:

at worst i'll still keep my bike and buy a 3 wheeled moped to get around on. then repair it as I'm able.

I am like you, I have a hard time sitting still, even after surgery when you are supposed to take it easy for a while. I am glad that you are making progress both in getting yourself mended and getting Joy repaired and ready to ride when you are ready. You have been on quite a roller coaster ride over the last 2 months, and I know exactly what you are going through. In 2002 I was involved in a car/motorcycle accident, got hit head on. Many injuries, many insurance company battles, which I'll be doing the rest of my life. I love riding my trike and would not hesitate to do exactly what you are doing. I wish you well, keep us posted, and most of all, ride safe.

We pay insurance premiums so we have an insurance company to cover us and represent our interests. Then when we need their services, they're not there for us and will almost do anything to escape liability.
It seems their focus is on collecting premiums and denying liability.

I'm not going to have enough to fix JOY now. I will fix the rear end and put her back on her wheels.

I have found another trike I can afford until I can fix JOY. it's Chinese and only a 250cc bike. It seems to have good design on the rear end. it's a viable substitute as it's not automatic and it's kinda cool. it also has useable racks on it. I can work with it.

yes I'm keeping joy for now and going to try to repair her. I still got a malpractice case for my hand.

Re: Announcing the death of JOY my trike/ my not broken finger

according to my hospital reports I do not have a broken finger and for 2 months that was what I believed. then I went to the hand doctor and wow I've got a badly broken finger and needed major surgery to repair it. 0509142147a.jpgIMG956946.jpg 15 stiches

I don't know what I was thinking a 250 Chinese :gah::gah:

in the wanted to buy thread I was told about a site that sells insurance vehicles. I should be able to get the parts I need to repair JOY. I just needed a nudge thank you.

yes I should be able to buy a whole bike and in the meantime I will repair her rear end and put her back on her wheels. then I can work on the front. I don't fully know how bad the engine is or if the frame is bent yet.

Re: Announcing the death of JOY my trike/ ACCIDENT UPDATE

:xzqxz: as I don't remember anything reading things like the accident report are illuminating. :xzqxz:

the other driver was completely at fault he came from a drive on the right and was making illegal lane changes to the left to make a U-turn from a left turn lane he legally would not have been able to use. when he got to the center lane he was about to pass the turn lane and moved all at once across my lane while I was next to him. :AGGHH:

according to the report he plowed into me with such force it caused the trike to flip ejecting me and flipping over on top of me. so yes I was hit by 2 vehicles. :AGGHH: the witnesses say I may have been hit by a vehicle going other direction but there are no viable injuries to confirm I was hit by an other vehicle. the trike hitting me makes total sense I have unexplainable injuries that this explains.

as I have many followers of my story I thought you might be interested in the report. i found it illuminating.
