While searching for something else, I ran across this article from last year, but I'm sure there are more geniuses like this guy out there. Take a minute to read what's out there sharing the road with you and making a "good name" for bikers... HERE

We have this a lot here.....about 5 years ago, a Young Guy hit a Ford Quad Cab I-Ton Truck with His Honda CBR600RR, cutting completely through the cab and bed, killing Him and a 9 year old Little Girl sitting in the right rear seat.....He'd been clocked less that a quarter mile up the highway at 158mph by a State Trooper....."Stupid and Totally Unnecessary".... :gah:

:Shrug::qpnmt:

he's not long for this world!

I just hope he don't take anyone out along with him?

I long ago learned that there are OLD bikers and BOLD bikers, but there are NO, OLD, BOLD bikers.

:Coffee::Coffee: ... His response reminds me of something I've heard ........It's better to be thought a fool ,,,than to open your mouth and remove all doubt !!!..:Wrong:

Ok, I will say, that was pretty stupid on his part.. You just don't go that fast on a highway that long! You exit off so they can't catch you! Ok, Ok, in all seriousness, looking back, that's not too bright, but then again, to be old and almost smart, don't we have to be young and dumber than a box of bricks? I recall my last "serious" superbike was good for upwards of 220MPH.. Only big problem is, there's almost nowhere you can really open up something like that!

I had a guy who worked for me many years ago, he was a biker through and through. He also fit the joke about the difference a Hoover has with a Harley. One night he got all liquored up and knowing him partook of some illegal substances. He hit the one free way running flat out, that is until he smacked into the back of a van then parted with his bike to be run over by another car. Amazing thing is he lived, his brains were scrambled when he came out of the coma, he also didn't walk real good. They let him return to work almost a year later, he lasted a couple months before they sent him out on disability.

Sorry to hear about the guy you knew who smacked up his bike, but I really wanna hear the Hoover-Harley joke... :D  :D

That truly is a sad story that happens way way too often. We used to have an employee who had a similar thing happen to him. Was a "child prodogy", could fully rebuild a transmission correctly at 10 years old; could have been one of the best mechanics/builders anywhere... He broadsided a van one day doing about 110.. Now he's a basic welder and that's about where his talent and ability stops now....

When we are young, we rarely stop to realize that we aren't invincible until it's far too late.

We were in Daytona for bike week yrs ago. We past about a dozen ricers on the side of the rd. We were at highway speeds ( 70 ) and with in a min or 2 they pasted us riding on the the shoulder like we were standing still and front tires off the ground . Jerks

ThumbUpThumbUp.....Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black........all just a joke !!!...be happy...ThumbUp...I ride a DOODLE BUG

:) Come on, Rollin Thunder, lighten up a little. We've been all thru this before - a little bike humor is all in fun. My son has an FXDWG (?) (wide glide) and you should hear the zingers we pass back and forth.

As far as riding styles go, there are plenty of jerks on all kinds of bikes. Brand of bike does not matter if someone's a moron...like the guy we were taking about when this discussion started.

My friend threw a small handful of rice under my bike when I wasn't looking and then told me I had a leak... :D :lau

I've rode Harley's for over 35 + yrs. And I DON"T see the humor in that! Not like there's NOT stupid people on your foreign bikes also!

Just "Biker Humor".....it gets played back and forth since the Term "Rice Burner" was coined by the Harley and English Bike Guys in the early days of the "Japanese Motorcycle Invasion".....msocko3, that told the joke, if You notice, has Honda and Harley Motorcycles...nothing seriously mean't, and He even posted it would be a joke before tossing it out there.....Forums are best viewed and participated in with some sense of humor, and laid back....the weak point of the "Blue Screen" is the inability to see facial expressions, and hand gestures during sentences...........ThumbUp

The beauty of owning both brands is I get to laugh at all the jokes and not take anything seriously.

yeah I get it! Its hard to understand how one is putting it to you. When its not voiced. Can't see or hear someone's expressions. Its all GOOD ThumbUp. I rode with the same guys for over 25 yrs. But all that was among friends back then. Yeah I teased my Honda riding friends a lot. But I got it back the same. Sorry for not seeing the Humor in it now. :D

I was up at a Friend of mine's Car Lot last year, and He had His Harley Coffee Cup sitting on a paper towel....I told Him "If You'll get a Honda Cup, You won't have to keep a towel under it"....:D....Yeah, it's all good.......ThumbUp...I've owned Harleys, Hondas, Triumphs, BSAs, etc., etc., etc., "most everything"....I like em' all, as do most Members on this Forum...one of the best things here is the general attitude toward ALL Trikes, Motorcycles, and Scooters......ThumbUp :10:

I sure wasn't looking to offend anyone, for awhile the Honda dealer personnel were getting a laugh when they saw the plate on my Wing. I used the plate from the 2010 Triglide I had which was personalized, it said HDTRI. I just couldn't see getting a new plate when it wasn't due for renewal for 8 months so they got to laugh with me. I don't care what a person rides just as long as they do. I've seen some pretty goofy stuff which given the years you've been riding you must have seen things which really make you shake your head and things that give you a good laugh.

I love the coffee cup crack, I got a good laugh out of that one.

Ok love the coffee cup line!! That's great!! One of my favorite "Harley jokes" USED TO BE.. What's a german shepherd have in common? Both spend most of their time in the back of a truck... Well, last time I told that joke around a huge group of friends (who all got a great laugh).. The rectifier on my bike went out halfway home, and my bike (a rice burner, yes), got to ride in the back of a pickup.. Haven't told it since! I figure if karma got me that good, was time to keep my big ol mouth shut! :Trike1:

One yr about 12 of us rode down to Fla from Michigan. And met up with some Wing riders from my work. It was funny at times at all the kidding that went around. . We would tease each other at times. One night i was walking around with a foam cup with some Rice in the bottom of it with some water. One at a time as I walked by the Winger's. They asked what i had in the cup. I told them baby Gold Wing's ThumbUp. Got plenty of laughs from that one. But the next morning a sign hanging off my Harley. Saying for sale or trade for a Honda. Pay back I guess :D. All in fun between friends ThumbUp

I used to threaten a buddy of mine who rides a Wing, I told him I was going to hang a sign on his bike saying "I Want To Be An Ultra Classic When I Grow Up". We used to trade barbs back and forth, the best was when I showed up in his driveway with a 2012 Wing, he about crapped. I was the last person he thought would start riding a Wing.
