went out for a sunday ride as we usually do, and something quite unexpected happened... i was riding tail end of the pack, behind a friend on her kawazaki 900. all was going well till her side cover flew off braking the mount for the tool kit and the tools hit the road and bounced straight back up at me. got hit by spanners and pliers etc one hit on the inside of my elbow, another on my knee cap. yet another took out a rearview mirror.
no real harm done, but it could have been nasty. we were doing about 75 mph at the time. just goes to show you never know whats going to happen next, or how lucky you can be.

Thank Goodness you were not more seriously injured! Almost anything that size hitting you at 75 mph could cause pain and injury, but a tool in the eye, etc. could have been deadly!

If you ride enough you'll likely have all kinds of close calls, Most of the times you get lucky and can shrug it off,ThumbUp
There's always some thing out there that tries to jump up and get you.:xszpv:
Good thing you held your composure, As they say in Brooklyn;
It could have been ''Worsta''

Last time I rode a street bike a dog got me in eight lanes of traffic. So I started riding dirt bikes and drinking beer then the trees would jump out in front of me. So far all is well with the trike, I am a lot older and a little wiser!

Back in the 60s a junebug between the eyes got my attention real quick at 55 mph. Lost one foot off the peg and one hand off the handlebars, thought I was going down for the count but recovered and brought it under control. phew!

Rosy

Had the same thing happen when I was in Thailand, was driving a military version of semi truck but it had no cab on due to being shipped out from Vietnam. Traveling at 50 and a rice bug, which is an over grown cock roach, hit me between the eyes. Darn near knocked me right out of the truck. I thought someone shot me. Had two black eyes, and a huge bruse in the center of my forehead. I pulled over and the first guy to get to me couldn't believe what happened, had entrails all over my face, looked like someone beat the crap out of me.
