In case you are interested here is some differences i have found. The 2009 has:
slightly Larger Trunk
Windshield Defroster
Hood latches are at the 1/3 point not the Top
The shape of the interior is slightly different. (heat shield carpet would not fit too big), to the eye it looks the same, but it is not.
You can now see the Trans dip stick
Plastic Body

That's all I have found so far, did I miss anything?

Thanks LunchBox you answered a question that I have had for some time. I’ve asked TMS for the info but they’re not telling, or their still making changes.

How did you come up with the differences? Were you able to do a side by side comparison or did you find some documentation somewhere?

Bill

CMJ Motorsports had a 2008 demo right beside our 2009, the dealer actually pointed out most of the changes, we purchased their first 2009.

The brakes are also different, much smoother, or the 08 needed adjustment as it would grab if you pushed to far or quickly. I do think she said something about them changing the brakes.

CMJ is a great dealer by the way, they add a battery tender, and a connection point to the battery for free, plus they do not charge for shipping the Stallion.

TMS is still trying to get the Stallion DOT approved in California. This will make a big difference in insurance and how it is registered.

I pay $17 a month for my Harley, the Stallion would be in the $300 a month range without CA DOT certification. So I'm still waiting.

Bill.

I tapped my Windshield Defroster shut
all it is is a vent from the engine compartment to the windshield compartment so as you are moving you will get heat onto the windshield.

I live on a dirt road and all I got was dust onto the inside of my windshield, does not work out toooooo well.

Well that is good to know, thanks silverdevil I think I will do the same as SC is usually hot. I was wondering how it worked as there are no controls for the defroster, but it never occurred to look under the hood to see if it was vented:blush: O well

That's what great about this forum learning from someone who has been there done that.

Thanks

Lunch box,
I have only been in two situations which I needed a defroster, but I would say it was more a defogger that I needed. Both were during very cold days. Once in Asheville at 20 degrees, and the other in Charlotte at 18 degrees. Each time my windshield fogged up as soon as I started it. When this happens you are dead in the water. I immediately stopped and it went away as the heat naturally rose from the engine through the dash. For about one minute each time I thought to myself "It would be nice to have defrost now on my Stallion" and then I forget about it.........

I would not put too much time into this issue.

Hi MJ had this happen while we were riding the Blue Ridge inearly May. Very heavy fog/dew with a high humity and temp about 55. Wiped the inside and trucked on. Ted

good points I am so use to Coastal SC I did not thing about taking trips in the uplands. Hopefully this weekend I will have time to open up the Stallion and see if there is an easy way to open and close the vent and just how it works.

My wife was riding all day today and it was 95 degrees, I heard no colmplaints when she got back home, so maybe no big deal. Hopefully in a few weeks we can head to the Blueridge and make a run.

another change

Low beam headlight comes on with the key only just like on a Motorcycle you do not need to use the light switch. High Beams or fog lights do not work unless the light switch is turned on
