:Depressed:So today was finally a decent day here to ride my new Trike. I planned on taking out my '10 TG because it was about 50 today. Ran out to the garage and could not get the battery to turn over. So I drove down the HD, bought a trickler Charger. Spent a 1/2 hour trying to get access to the battery. Finally got it hooked up and eventually got her started. Sounded so sweet..while I was letting it warm up I found the attachement to the battery for the trikler charger. Burnt my damn hand on the pipel Finally got out, drove around for about an hour, hour and a half..drove home. Now I have a slightly steep driveway and had shut her down to open the garage door. It was at that moment I realized I left the damn parking brake on. Not use to having a parking brake on a motorcyle. so now I need to get that fixed.

All in all it still was a great day out and can't wait for more nice days.

Glad to be a member of the trike bunch. Hope to see you all around, an am sure there will be better days ahead.

I can assure you that you are not the first to drive around with your break on. I think I was the first. You and I are the honest ones. Lots on the boards do it, then post about their breaks squeak, don't work, or won't adjust. Enjoy it, the weather will get better.

I left mine on once, I solved it by banshing the critter to the garage attic. I used a velcro strap to hold the front brake on if I thought I needed a parking brake.

I would recommend to anyone to keep your battery charged over the down time. It will help it last longer..

The parking brake is a trip..They should have installed a kill switch to the parking brake and had a better way to adjust the parking brake once the pads wear the dam thing is useless..

The parking brake was the first mod I made to wifes new TG, It was hanging on the wall in less than a month.
Enjoy your new ride,

I have left mine on so many times it aint funny. I finally just quit using it. Like msocko3 I carry a velcro strap.

I use a big rubber O ring, it works well. Have not left the eBrake on yet(knock on wood), but did in my truck once. It glazed the brake linings and they squeeked afterwards. A posibble cure for the squeek, is to remove the wheels and take fine sandpaper to the pads, to remove the glazing. IT worked on my truck.

Sounds like a good happy day Ray!!..More fun to come for you...And like others here have said,, my parking brake works the best when it is sitting in a box in the garage. I dont hear any squeaks, rattles, grinding noises or anything. And, best of all,, I never forget to release it.!!

Ha Ha!! Just a little north of ya about 4 hours..I will let you know next time I come to Utah to visit Fam...we must meet my Brutha!!

Tick-tock, tick-tock.....tapping my watch waiting for warmer weather (still in deep freeze mode)! I don't use the parking brake in case anyone's interested (lol). Just wanted to post a response so you all will know I'm still here sleep

I quess a smart move by HD would be a light on the dash--- just a thought HD!!

Well it WILL NOT deter me from enjoying a ride.

As far as the battery connections go, you can pull the red rubber boot back where the positive battery wire connects to the starter motor and connect any battery charger there if the factory battery charge attachment is missing or inconvenient.

This red wire connects directly to the positive battery teerminal.

Well I left mine on than than took it to the machanic told him it was pulling to the right.he looks at me and asked do you have a 20.00 I said sure than he reached down and took the break off :( but I did learn something if it is pulling cheek the break weeeeeeeeeeee

I'm sure Phu will answer YES, part of the original post talks about jumping a dead battery on his TG.

I wish I could claim I never left the parking brake on, but I've done it at least twice and maybe 3 times.

Never had an E Brake what is it for. I do not even use it in cars EVER if you leave it in 1st it is not going anywhere. Put it in 1st and shut it off. Go get 4 of you friends and try to push it 3 feet.

I like starting mine in winter while I put the cold weather gear on helmet on etc. so the parking brake is on and sweetie is in neutral. Didn't have a p brake on my 04 trike so when I got the TRI glide I left the brake on a couple times so had to have it adjusted and had to replace the rotors and 1 caliper @ 15000 miles.

Yup,been there done that too:Shrug:

Sorry, you must have mis-read...I'm in Maryland. That does seem a little farther away from Utah than 4 hours....unless you have one hell of a trike.

If you are ever in Maryland, let me know
