I just noticed this post today. It is from a while back. I don't think it is nice to post articles like this since it does nothing more then provoke the Harley riders. HD makes a great bike and that is why they sell so many and have a real following. I myself don't like the noise they make, but on the other hand it DOES let the drivers know there is a cycle in the area. We are ALL motorcyclists and none of us are any better then the others. Some of us like family cars, some like hotrods and some like sportcars and convertibles. The important thing is that ALL of us love to ride. We are all created equal. The only difference is the "MAKE AND MODEL OF THE CYCLE."

Motogordo ( Gordon L. )

I drive a 2005 GL1800 Lehman Monarch II trike. Way back when, I also had a 1979 HD FLH in blue and it was FUN.

P.S. One really nice thing about the Harley's is the fact that they are MADE IN AMERICA. This is something that we should all be proud of. If you have noticed, even the so called RICE BURNERS are now being made here. Good luck to all the Harley riders. When you see ME, don't hesitate to wave. I always do the same for you guys. RIDE ON.....

If you have noticed, alot of the Harley riders dress slightly different then alot of us. It's no different then the days of the "Hippies." This is one of the things this country is known for. FREEDOM OF SPEECH and freedom to express ourselves.
I know this pic will seem funny to some, but I don't want the Harley riders to think that ALL of us who are not HD owners feel the same. Please don't take offense.

Right now in my garage there sits a 1990 Electraglide Sport (FLHS) right next to a 2004 Goldwing GL1800 Champion Trike. I can attest they live very happily togather. ThumbUp

Gloria wants me to add that the sour grapes could be about any maker that was as popular and iconic as Harley. The most well known brands of anything are the ones that get dumped on. You dont see many tattoos with Yamaha's tuning forks, the Suzuki S or even the Honda wing like you see the Bar & Shield.

I had a 2007 Road Glide and a 2002 Goldwing. They were very close.... BUT once I put the Trike Kit on the Goldwing, the Harley doesn't want to park next to her in the garage anymore....... What's up with that?

My 2 wheel harley doesn't mind at all parking next to a triked Goldwing. But then again the HD will be an Antique in 3 years, maybe it has learned to let the petty stuff pass. Or, considering it's advancing age, maybe it just keeps forgetting there is a difference in the first place.

Or could it be your Road Glide has a case of Wheel Envy?

Motogordo; Your sentiments are in the right place and I fully agree, we all enjoy the freedom and wind in our collective faces in / on whatever way we choose. :10:
Personally I don't care what vehicle others choose to ride, it's all good:Coffee:
But, by posting that picture..are you not perpetuating the stigma?:Shrug:Just sayin'.

Hey, I agree with you. I bought a t-shirt at a GWRRA rally a few years ago that featured a dig about Harley riders. It seemed funny at the time, especially when everyone there was into Wings, but the first time I went to wear it, it just didn't feel like the right thing to do.

I like Harleys, but I push my trike pretty hard and I'm afraid a Harley wouldn't take the abuse.

I've never had an problem with Harley riders. In fact, pretty much all the people I ride with are Harley riders, because I like the fact that they are (in general) bolder riders.

We kid each other a lot. A couple years ago, they TP'ed my Trike on a ride to the Tail of the Dragon. It was pretty funny. I got up first and removed the paper. Later, one of them asked me what I thought when I saw what "someone" had done to my trike and I said: "Well, at first I didn't recognize it, because it looked so much like a Harley".

I try to remember that it's one thing to kid someone, but there's a fine line between kidding and insulting. You have to remember that most of the things we get kidded about aren't "real"--for instance, calling our rides "rice burners". But most of the things you kid Harley-riders about are true and not everyone appreciates it when you point out something that deals with reality, even in jest.
