Powdercoated vs Chrome fork wings

Today I was at the harvey dawson shop and in came another trike. He had a set of Dennis Swans fork wings in chrome, said he really appreciated them. I have not seen a set of chrome ones before and I don't want to start anything but my silver vain powder coated ones to me looked nicer. I think he did too. What POed him was mine cost less ;-) I know some guys like a lot of chrome and I do too, but the silver vain powder coats just stands out. I have a license plate bracket in the same coating and always liked it I thought is was just the style but I think it is the coating. Not trying to make you guys with chrome wings feel bad I guess different strokes for different folks. Go ahead let the flaming start. Thanks, Jerry

Ha ha Jerry!!! No flaming here! I had to really think about going with the Silver Vein or the chrome. I went with the chrome, and I think I am glad I did. They match all the other chrome goodies perfectly. But I will confess...I wonder how the powder coat vein would look. Tuff descision fer sure!! I am so happy with how all three of those deflectors work that I wouldn't care if they were pumpkin colored !!!

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!!!! trouble, trouble!
When I get caught up today, I will post some pictures of some other powder done on the fork wings. Black wrinkle and a silver. The silver reminds me of the color of the old Chevy rally rims. On my glide I also run the silver vain (also called Jack Frost) seems to blend well and is what I finish all the tree baffle brackets with. May switch over to the black wrinkle on those brackets as it looks nice too.
I will lay them out and snap some pictures for comparison.

Here are a few options I am trying out for fork wings in powder.
Silver Vain, Black Wrinkle and a silver. Some shown with raw metal.

I was right my silver vain looks better, you guys have all your taste in your mouth. ThumbUp

Jerry, total +1 on the silver vein. My modded HD deflectors were chrome and I loved those too, but the silver vein is perfect for me. Here's a picture of how they look on Big Blue. Steve

Nice ride Steve, and those silver vain fork wings look nice also. What kind of trike is that, the rear fenders don't look like a Triglide. Dennis must have a hard time powder coating the silver vain I think he pushes the chrome ones more. Those yankies are still trying to get even, down south we were selling them water and it was free.

I am planning to be there at this time.
Should be able to bring along several things for Randy to give away also.
I have rode the area several times and have enjoyed it.
Dennis

I hope you make it, look forward to meeting you.

Certainly hope you make as it would be nice to meet you. By the way, pink deflectors would look horrible.:D

I'm torn between the Silver vein and the black wrinkle for my Black beast. Although, I actually am entertaining the PINK Idea......
