are great sales people. My wife has been after me to trike my 01 GL1800 (78,000 miles of smiles) for a couple years now but I've been resisting "cause I like to lean in corners" I'd say.

Was hospitalized in June for 4 days. Started reading trike forums, researching kits and installers. Test rode 2 trikes. Was somewhat disappointed.

Read this forum again including the sticky thread "Handling corners and curves" from inception to date. I'm sold!!!

Getting a Roadsmith conversion. Where do I send each of you a commission check? Good job! :clapping:

Tumbleweed, My wife is just the opposite, she really misses leaning into the corners. For that matter, so do I.

Does the Roadsmith have independent suspension? Sure wish our Triglide did.

Enjoy your new ride.

Welcome fellow Michigander! :wave4:

Keep us posted on how the process is coming. Pics are a must once the conversion begins! :)

Welcome Tumbleweed and greetings from Long Island. You will find cornering to be lots of fun on 3. Its a whole different feel.

Yes. The Roadsmith does have IRS (independent rear suspension). I noticed a difference from my Valkyrie MotorTrike which had a solid axle rear. The Roadsmith IRS (along with it's longer wheelbase) makes for a more comfortable ride and handles the turns perfectly. Juts my observations and opinion,,,. ThumbUp

grate you are getting a trike. after you get used to it you will love it. One thing I did not be-leave was that a trike can out ride a 2 wheeler in the rough stuff. after I got used to mine it take a good, not average , good rider to stay with me in the curves and bad stuff. and stopping the trike has a 2 wheeler bet hand down.
enjoy the trike

Just be sure to tell the Roadsmith guys you made your decision base on what you read on TrikeTalk.com. Thats commission enough for me.

Tumbleweed, just PM me and I'll give you an addy to send the check to and since Bazooka doesn't want a commission check, just add his percentage to my commission check. :D :pepper: :Trike1: :wave4:

welcome .I came from many years of 2 wheelers and wasn't real happy with the way a trike rode either in the beginning but it will grow on you. the more you ride and relax on it you will find a whole new way of riding. To me speed is not a factor anymore, so we ride drag on most of our group rides. even in the twisties we never lose sight of the bike in front of us. corners are not as big a deal as some 2 wheel riders make it seem. as for the straights, you just kick back and take it all in....mile after mile... just finishing my first year on my conversion. I think I will keep it.ThumbUp

We don't need money, we need pictures! So post them up when you get things rolling, and let us know how things are going along as you progress. Welcome, from downtown Central Texas!

Welcome to the forum.
After riding on 2 wheels for 50 years it was hard for me to go to 3 wheels. Got a Roadsmith trike due to my health. It has been nothing but a blessing for me.
My wife has been reluctant to to really accept the trike. She is starting to like it. She prefers a Harley over the Goldwing for the sound. I am enjoying the quiet myself.

Thought I was going to pick up my newly installed RS conversion this week being done by Central Motor Sports in Mount Pleasant MI but the radio began acting up when I rode the Wing to the installer in Oct. Matt (owner - great guy) called Thurs to say the radio worked in the shop but on the test ride it malfunctioned. There will be a 2-3 week delay while the radio is being refurbished. When finally in my possession, I'll be looking for a 2-day good weather window so I can ride it to FL for the winter. I am SO anxious!!! Feel like a child waiting for Christmas.
