I am going to get a taller windshield do to lower raked front on my Roadsmith.
I know I have read recommendations in here from those who have done this but
I just don't seem to be able to find them back. So My question is what do you taller riders recommend and why. I'm 6 ft 2 in tall and my wife is 6 ft tall. We need to push the envellope up to reduce the buffeting. Also interested in handlebar risers to reduce shoulder tension. Any suggestions there.

On a side note have 1200 miles of local short trips ( 300 mi or less) on my
Roadsmith and love it. Why did I wait so long to do this. Fresh retirement and a new trike conversion, it just don't get much better then this.
Take care ALL and have a very great 4th. JerryD

Jerry: I should have my Tulsa xtall on my GL early next week. Will roadtest & review for you then. Maybe it'll rain (we could use it!) so I can hopefully tell you abou how it sheds water...or not.

Had the Tulsa X tall hit my head on it the 1st4 or 5 times I got on the bike , got use to it. Good windshield stayed fairly clear for 3years. Good for the $$$ .
Swapped it for the F 4 still crystal clear after 6 years. So clear you forget is in front of you. I have it on U tube search "Americade 2009 F4 windshield ."
U will notice as I look to the left or right a slight line at the edge of the windshield. In this video the F4 is 3years old .

I am a shorty at 5'7'' but my trike had a Tulsa X-tall on it when I bought it. Since then have replaced it with a F-4 with a vent & love the heck outta it. Have the Tulsa if you want it for free, with you paying the shipping. Or anyone else for that matter. It is in great shape. Off to the Western Rally on Sat so won't be checking the site for abt a week. So you can pm me if you wish.

Salty: Dang! Wished I'd have known you were giving away a Tulsa XL. Just got mine installed and WOW what a difference! Much less buffeting and no more wind pushing me forward. I love it and wished I'd gotten it sooner. (I've read more than a few posts by people who switched from a Tulsa XL to the F-4 with good results. Just curious, what prompted the switch?)

Have never used an F-4, but have seen nothing but good reports on them, a few of our friends have one and love it. Some may balk at the price, but as a buddy said, it will pay for itself if it lasts as long as 2 oter shields.

That being said, when we got the new trike last October it came with a National Cycle V-Stream, with vent. I really like it. It is a different shape that proports to move the buffeting out from the rider & passenger. Gloria says she does have less wind on the back seat than on the old trike with a tall Tulsa. (Which I liked) Also, this is my first shield with a vent, and with the hot weather we are having, I am wondering how I got along without one.

Have a Tulsa with vent on order. A friend has one and likes it so I knew it would work. Really was interested in the F4+4 but the cost difference sold it. Next time maybe the billfold will be in better shape and I'll go with the F4+4. Thanks for all the information. JerryD

I switched as the Tulsa was a head banger. And frankly was nothing special as far as the quality went..IMHO. While i've always looked over the w/s on Sport bikes, on the trike, with Wifey on board, I figured the extra height would negate any buffetting for her. So I needed a crystal clear, water beading windshield. The F-4 fit the bill perfectly.

I've just removed 4 inches from the top of my screen! Found that in the rain - and it really rains here in Thailand - couldn't see through the screen and needed to look over it , which meant me sitting up "real tall". It's about nose-level, and with my visor half up, I find I can avoid the rain AND see over the top!

My only regret on trading my "03" for a "10" was losing my F4 windshield.
You can replace your windshield twice for the price of an F4, but I got to say you wouldn't regret getting the F4 because of clarity and ease of cleaning. Just spray it with windex and use a paper towel. The rain will just run off, but you can get the same runoff on any windshield if you wax it. I don't know what I'll do when I need another WS.
