Will a stock 103" TG

last trip i took on my '09 t/g it would would only do 85 mpg & extremely slow to go above thaon the interstate 3am.why do you want to red line it? .

I don't know where the top end would be on a stock one, mine was stock for only 2,500 miles. I believe I may have clipped 80 - 85 mph when it was stock. Now is a different story, I've been to 90 while pulling a trailer and the engine was still pulling.

There's an easy way to find out, Try it.
I had mine to about 95, for a short time [passing] with out a problem, But at those speeds I'm watching the road not the tach.

why would you want to?? I've had mine above 90 a few times while on the interstate passing but like rino2 said I was watching the highway not the tach

Kinda thought that might be the case 427Dave. Our '88FXRT would run into the rev limiter but none of our EGs would with 80" engines. This is my first 103.

Well Bruce, back in 'the day' if your bike or car would get to the bottom end of redline in top gear ya knew ya had a runner.

I had the TG up to 80 but wasn't to the top of 4th gear yet. Just wondered if it would still gain speed in 6th in stock condition.

Your right Phu Cat back in the day that was important to me ( I always had harley's but for the friday, saturday and sunday light to light drags I ran Nortons and Roayl Endfields ) I guess that means I'm just gettin old :p

I had a 103 from the start back in 08. By 09 I had a crank that had too much run out and trash the internal parts. Most likely running that 103 too hard. After that I built it out 117 and have more torque now and my trike can run at 80+ with ease.
