Wider Rear Tires?

Can we go wider? And if we can, how wide? Thanks - jc

How much room do you have in the fenderwell, now? How well is the stock wheel and tire centered?

Just remember,a wider tire/wheel combo will sap power and performance, due to the increased drag/rolling resistance.

How much do you ride in the rain? Wider may not be better.

Our Boss Hoss trike had 20x10 rear wheels with 295/35/20 tires. We have ridden in a lot of serious rainstorms and not once did we ever experience hydroplaning.

Wider tires may be cool but after hydroplaning last week I don't want anything wider than what I have. Was very interesting. We got caught in a down pour.

To be honest - I'm not so sure that the added drag would have a measureable effect....but the Hydroplane issue was not in my thinking. Assuming that there would be better tire options than the Dunlops on the bike {no bashing of the tires here, no issues} that the hydroplane problem might even get better with better tires? Thanks guys - jc

I would suggest thinking on how hard they would be to get off the trike also. The stock size is tough enough.

wider no without fender mods..Its hard enough to get the wheel out now..when I had mine I went with a lower profile tire versus stock..Made the ride more fun in the turns..:D

LOWER!! I can hardly get out of a gas station with out draggin' pipes......and no....I don't want to put the DK kit on the back right now. I kinda like the stance where it is. Flat pipes and all!

Never thought that would be a problem on a TriGlide. It was a major PITA on our Boss Hoss trike. Maybe it will be easier on our Hannigan conversion w/IRS.
