Why did you want a trike?

There are many reasons to love trikes. For me, I am a gimp from polio, and have no way of keeping a half-ton bike from falling to the left.

I ride in the winter, Two wheels don't go too well in Snow, salt, sand, and gravel. So i guess the answer is [for me] their safer.

Two main reasons for me.

First, my wife is a lung cancer survivor and has emphysema. Exertion is difficult. To ride on the bike took some getting on and off when we had to change her oxygen tanks. This way, once on she can stay there and I can get off the trike without worrying about her falling over.

Second, I'm getting just old enough to worry about holding up the bike, especially at intersections. Haven't dropped it, but I've had my foot slide a time or two on gravel and its disconcerting!

A trike is just more reliable.

My right foot has a permanent injury that I just dont trust. Motorcycling is our way of life!! Making the upgrade to our trike was the bast thing that we could've ever done!! Worring about losing my footing on a stone is no longer an issue or worry! Being caught in a rain storm isn't a concern anymore!! I actually wish we would have done it a long time ago!!!

I have no problems the guy that duz my tune up work on my Goldwing is a CSC dealer.The first time I went to his shop I saw some he had and I wanted one ever since that.I did however wind up with a Motortrike instead of CSC.RIDE SAFE

I am a very healthy 59 year old that wanted to be able to tour with my wife AND be able to look around and see the sights along with her. So no medical reason for me.

I found that I am able to look around a lot more and enjoy the rides we take much more not having to worry about tar snakes, gravel, water, sand and all the other things that can make a corner lead a trip to the hospital. Not to mention that we can turn out on ANY gravel sightseeing spot without worry.

I don't care about me. I still have my Vulcan to ride by myself, but I don't want to have to worry about injuring my wife because of a slip on sand or gravel.

The trike is much more comfortable and handles crosswinds MUCH better than our two wheel wing ever did. This spring we were caught in 60, gusting to 70 mph, cross winds for almost two hours in Utah and we rode right through. Two wheelers - as well as 18 wheelers - were parked under underpasses that we went by.

I don't think we would have ever taken a 2100 mile, 8 day trip on the two wheel wing but we did on the trike without hesitation because we felt so secure on it.

I have never looked back on the decision to go with a trike.

I still like the twisties when I ride by myself, but I like to be safe and comfortable when riding with my wife so she will keep on wanting to ride for a long time.

Well I dropped two bikes this year once wi th my wife on the back that resulted in a hospital stay and ongoing physical therapy.I decided it was time to go to 3 wheels.

In Oct/2005 I bought a new HD and rode for 5 miles before hitting some gravel.Down I went..I realised then that between health ,strength and five by-passes that my riding days were thru...We went to the Honda dealer and saw an 1800-Champion that would keep us in the wind..It's been nothing but sweet memories Tommy TOI-TN.

An old injury was causing muscle spasms in my left hip. They come on suddenly with little or no warning. When this happens, it can compromise my ability to balance a two wheeler and keep her in a straight line. Where I live, there are no shoulders on the roads and most of them have drainage ditches along side. There's no room for an error. A trike was the safest option for me. No more balancing issues and better stability for my requirements.

Peer pressure from guys at work to get a bike.At 58(then) and never rode a bike they suggested to trike it. So I bought the bike and converted it with a Champion kit and have been having the time of my life ever since. I'm 62 now and ride year round. Ken

Was getting apprehensive about what the parking lot would be where we were going, or if I'd have to make a u-turn on a narrow road, especially with my wife on the back. I never had a problem, but knew I'd drop it someday. I'm 5'5" and 69 years old and want to keep riding.

A number of years ago my wife decided that she was not secure riding on the back of my old Aspencade, and when I got my Road King she didn't want to ride on it either, so I got the biggest, and brightest color GL1800 trike I could find, and now she's back riding with me again.
Now that I've been riding the trike, my Harley is either going to be sold or triked.
I just really have no great desire to go back to 2 wheels anymore.
