What type of phone mount do you have on your TriGlide?

Not in agreement with the in the pocket/trunk crowd. Phone is not just a phone these days, it is a music player, weather warning, traffic tracker and GPS on short trips. (Have a stand-alone Garmin for longer jaunts.) When I ride I don't answer the phone, calls go to voice mail. My favorite mount is the RAM Quick Grip.

Had the RAM X-Grip, and while it works well, I couldn't quite bring myself to trust it on the trike, even with rubber security bands. I like the X-Grip that it holds very securely on all 4 sides. Also have RAM mounts for the GPS, drink holder and such.

I understand where most are coming from about the safety issues of the phones. They are certainly real! I mount my phone for the music using the Sirius XM app or iTunes. Have tried AppleCar Play and the Maps (Apple Maps or Google) are definitely a step up from the H-D integrated Maps. Rokform mount works great for me.

I have mine mounted using Leader Motorcycle products and the brake/clutch mount. I use the large X-grip to hold my iphone 11. Very sturdy. They are of extremely high quality. I had one on my 2009 Ultra Classic and now on my 2019 TriGlide. Really love how well it works.

How many miles do u estimate you have ridden with phone in mount? The reason I ask is because in my research I’m finding the vibration on bikes causes a failure in the image stabilization of IPhone 11 and 12. I am not sure if this is specific to adventure style bikes? I’m thinking the heavier TriGlide may not vibrate as much because they are 2 cylinders and bigger?

I've only used the phone to receive a couple very important calls I was expecting and did not want to wait around for. But I do like having Apple CarPlay on the new Boom Box GTS and it requires the phone to be plugged into the USB port via a lightning cable. Otherwise like others I'd have it stowed away. I use the Techmount phone mount. Great products and great customer support.

did u use handle bar or perch mount? If handlebar where did you put it?

Good question. I would say about 2000 miles so far. Have not noticed any issues with the iphone yet.

CIRO fairing mount

Question on ciro smartphone mount. I have a '16 TG and am curious if anyone has used a dremmel tool to shave off a bit of the right side inner fairing door to accommodate a charging cord to keep the phone plugged in for GPS use on the road? Comments welcome.

Why wouldn't you use the GPS on the bike ?

I keep my iPhone plugged in so I can access Apple Car Play. No problem shutting the door to the compartment with the cable there.

I have not mounted mine yet. Did you get the mount with the built in charger?

I did this and have experienced no problems. I cut it at the bottom of the door. Been in a couple of frog choker rain storms and had no leakage whatsoever. A ziplock baggie keeps the phone dry as a bone in the desert.

No, just the mount. I intend to run a short charging cable from the USB in the fairing box to my phone when in the ciro mount. I did not want to run a line from the battery along the gas tank to the bottom of the Ciro mount. Just my preference. Only asking what anyone else did so as not to pinch the cable in the door. Thanks. I intend to only use it on cross country backroads if necessary. Normal operating I will not use the GPS or the mount.

That is why I decided on mount with charger so I did not have to pinch the cable in door. Sounds like there is a solution for that. Good luck.

Quad Lock

I just ordered the Quad Lock tonight. I already had the Ram ball mount but the rubber on the Ram "X" would rub against the rubber on my phone case and especially in the Florida heat the rubber on both pieces just fell apart in no time. With the Quad Lock I was able to get their ball mount and it will fit perfectly using the existing adjustable "socket" arm that was already on the Ram mount.

Well, even after what I commented earlier, I ended up going with the http://www.rokform.com/products/motorcycle-perch-mount. I got my wife the pedestal mount for her car and got the universal magnet not realizing I didn't need it as the mount comes with metal discs to put on the back of her Otterbox. Then Rokform sent me a 20% off email so I ordered the mount. I primarily got it because I'm always forgetting my phone in the fairing pouch when we stop or get home. I've even left my phone in the pouch while in Walmart. :xzqxz: So having it mounted will help me remember it.

Getting old sucks and the desire to disconnect while riding doesn't help either.

Yeah I’m hoping making it visible will keep me from leaving on the bike. Be Safe BK

Like Gary no phone on my bar's. Lived to long now to die stupid I personally will not there's plenty of things to do. The added distraction of a phone in use is like driving drunk no thank you. Travel safe Fred

What do you use for navigation and where is the screen?

My phone is either in my tour pak or glove compartment (do they still call it that) because I don't need any more distractions while riding. I am constantly forgetting my phone and a couple times for a few days. I couldn't care less since I only use it for emergencies away from home anyway. I never wanted a cell phone and only bought one a couple years ago = for emergencies only. I hate paying for something I almost never use so the best I could find was a prepaid smartphone deal from Tracfone for $120 a year with unlimited calls/texts. Cheapest I could find. My son pays over $250 per month - can you believe that? WOW!!

You're right about getting old, but it's better than the alternative. :)

When I was working, I used the excuse that I NEEDED to see every call when it came in and be able to answer it. Retired now, and I don't need or want that capability. For the music excuse, I have downloaded about a dozen albums and individual songs (over 900) to my phone, but I just went into iTunes and added them to a flash drive and plugged it into the USB cable. I can ride for weeks and not hear the same song twice. No more excuses... works for me. And if I want something else, I can turn on the radio!

I use the Rokform system and it is really solid. It is more expensive but is made from billet aluminum, not obtrusive and fits the look of the bike.

You almost described me to a "T" except the part of NEEDING to see every call. :)

I put all my favorite songs on flash drives. Each drive has a specific genre or artist. I know I can put thousands on 1 drive, but this way I don't have to fumble around looking for another file while I'm riding. Most days I only want to listen to a specific type of music. On Cinco de mayo I insert my mariachi music, on St. Pats day, I insert my Irish music, etc. I only record my very favorite songs - no filler like you would find on an album. I still miss my CD player, did the same with that too. :)

Stay safe and keep those tunes coming.

Phone Mount

I would like to cast my vote for QuadLock. I ordered the mount, vibration dampener and the correct case cover for my iPhone. I have over 4K miles with the phone mounted and no issues on my 2021 TG. I've ridden over some of the worse, wash-board roads with it, and totally secure. I use for Google Maps and keep it plugged in for charging via the auxiliary power port. I get the turn-by-turn instructions via Bluetooth in my Cardo headphones.
