So many questions about tires thought this should be brought out of mothballs.... It is a very informative Thread.

If your wondering about Rear Bias Tire Reverse Rotation, SEE Post #24 that has info from Michelin, Avon and Bridgestone Tire companies....

I have ran 2 BT 45's and 12,000 miles was what I got on one and 10,000 miles on the other. Both tires developed these cracks in at least a dozen places and one tire even had splits inside the tread grooves (I don't have pictures of that). I don't pretend to know if these cracks and splits are unsafe but I didn't like them and I also ran both tires in reverse rotation if that means anything. I don't plan to know how a third BT 45 tire would hold up.

Looks like an old tire problem, sometimes you can get a tire that hasn't turned in inventory for one reason or another. Maybe it was stocked in the upper part of the hot tire warehouse. Cracks in the side wall are also old tire problems, but I've never had an MPA develop cracks, 41PSI and mine have always been good so far over 25K, have never tried the BT45 and sounds like I won't. FYI

I can't speak for how they were stored before I got them but they weren't old according to the date codes. They certainly didn't get old on my trike, less than a year for each one. They didn't come from the same supplier either. I have seen other BT 45's with cracks on other bikes and trikes as well, no more for me.
