Spotted this thing on the road today. Steering wheel, manual transmission with floor shifter. Does anybody know what it is or anything about it?

Looked them up on the web. Interesting, but with a starting price of $25K I think I'll stick with what I have. One strike against them: they have partnered with Progressive to provide insurance to their customers. Don't want to start anything here but I don't have anything to do with Progressive.

Thanks for letting me know what it is. Live and learn...

For what it is with the GM motor I think it is a good price. However, I think it is down right UGLY. There is a couple at the local dealer. Hard to clime in and out of. $21,000 base price. $26,000 with the bells and whistles.

yeah its a car.. everything except the single wheeled end is a car... then look at a trike everything about it says bike except the 2 wheeled end..
im not sure for sure what the technical difference really is, but for me a trike (3 wheeled bike) has handlebars.
it looks like it would be fun to drive. but its a car without the practicalities that make cars practical LOL..
like multiple passenger spaces and a Boot (trunk) or a wagon back. and a roof for storms etc.
f figuring if you have a bike or a trike (or better still both) you wont need one of these..
so another good description might be its a TOY..

They been out state registered, my local dealer In Beaumont sold 3 all ready, they are a POS, if you have the mula the X bow is the father of that fart can. And agree that's a car, is no feeling of a bike at all, super small to get in and out, I'm 37 so my knees are good, 6,3 180lbs and was painful to get in and out of it. Btw yellow wing trikes are the fastest :pepper:

Saw some at Daytona and some T-Rex and several other varieties including a Stallion or two. As my Daddy used to say, " Son there is a seat for every azz and an azz for every seat. " I prefer my TG or something similar

FuzzyWuzHe: I agree. It's a car with no top and only one back wheel. Must be hell to drive in the summer down here with no A/C

Bazooka: Saw it in Magnolia, TX. It has a paper dealer plate on it. When I enlarge the photo enough to see the state of registration I lose too much resolution to read it.

Alextxtrike: "Btw yellow wing trikes are the fastest" I agree for some odd reason.

Seems in Texas they can't be registered as a motorcycle because of the seating. Apparently the Slingsht has a chair type seat, and Texas says one must sit "astride" a seat/saddle on a motorcyle.
If they put in a elongated seat so that your legs are on either side that would seem to make it legally a 3 wheel motorcycle.

Actually the Slingshot was brought the whole thing up for discussion at the Federal DOT level. Some states have all ready come up with a auto/trike designation all ready on their own. They exempt them from Motorcycle rules (helmets motorcycle lic. etc) The future will be determined by what the Federal DOT says they are. If you call them a car then airbags, bumpers, crash testing and all that come into play.

Missouri has a bill passing through the General Assembly regarding 3 wheel "auto-cycles". Mainly aimed at the upcoming Elio, and things like the T-rex and the old Corbin Sparrow. Some are looking to possibly adding the Stallion and Slingshot into that group, but as the bill is written the vehicle would have to have a built in top, which the those last 2 do not have.

To my thinking, side by side seating and steering wheel disqualifies it as a "motorcycle". A motorcycle has to be ridden "on", a car ridden "in".

I don't really care what they're called, The more people out riding in the wind no matter if their on or in the machine, Steering wheel, or Bars' The better it is for ''ALL'' of us.. I'm willing to bet that after someone who has never ridden in the wind, Once they ''Do'' they become more aware of bikes/trikes on the road, Even when their driving a car... Think back when you got your first bike, Did you never noticed bikes before..?

We saw one at Family Powersports dealer in Odessa, TX about a month ago. It was sitting out front. It was pretty-cool looking. We didn't ask any questions to anyone of it - just eye-balled it, noticed it would be very hard to get in and out of and looks like you could get very wet from passing vehicles in a rainstorm since it sits so low to the ground. It wasn't there a couple of weekends ago. Didn't think to ask the dealer anything about it. Don't know if it was actually for sale or if they were just testing the interest span to see whether or not to order in a couple.
