Wet brakes - no stops in the rain!!

We just traded a Yamaha Roadliner for a 1997 Road King with 1998 Lehman conversion. This week has been wet and this thing has rear drum brakes that don't work when wet - Help! Any suggestions?

I usually tap my brakes to dry them every once in a while.

Unless you rode through a deep enough puddle your brakes need adjustment. Do you know how to adjust drum brakes?

Road through flash flood warnings 35 miles work to home in steady rain - roared and poured, slacked up then back to roar. Stop and go traffic with no dry pavement all the way home. Did not submerge just water splashed up all the way home.

One thing to check, there is a small rubber boot that fits into the opening on the backing plate to turn the adjuster for the brake shoes. If its missing its possible its letting in water into the drum and getting your shoes soaked. Otherwise I would say your needing some adjustment to the rear brakes. I have ridden for hours in some heavy rain on my trike and never had any issues with my rear brakes.
