I was thinking you had a 1500 trike. Sorry. The aux tank should be the same kit for either a 1500 or 1800... maybe RS will straighten this out this week. Their customer support has been top notch since I bought mine. I would like them to comment on a locking gas cap. That cap of mine sits on my left rear fender and looks inviting when gas prices are high hehe I did find someone has loosened it once when parking in a motel lot and not sure if they siphoned any gas...

Thanks for the reply, just bought the 1800 last month.

Not a bad idea on the gas cap, but I'm thinking another key for me to loose?

Try a half cover, for trips

I got a half cover .... just covers the faring to the back of the trunk ... seat tank etc. is out of sight. Cheap too about $40 bucks, takes up much less room than a full trike cover.

Hello

I have a real problem with the back tires on my '96 Goldwing SE with a '09 Roadsmith trike. The original tires were worn badly inside at 11 or 12 thousand miles. Had the reverse and in another 10 or 11 thousand miles they were bald. Put on a new set that was rated at 100000 mi. Now they are worn badly inside, with 13 or 14 thousand miles. I put a framing square on the floor against the tires, which were 1/2 inch in at the top. I jacked it until tires were off the floor and almost straight up. What can be done to correct this problem? Maybe trade for Hannigan or California Sidecar. Don't want to do that as I like the 1500 better than 1800s
My E-mail address brvogtt@yahoo.com

Thanks in advance for any help with this!
Bruce

Just an FYI, we responded to Dirtman on his original post early yesterday, as well as contacting him on his personal email. We haven't heard back from him, so we are assuming that he might be traveling for the holidays. For the record, we told him that he most likely has a suspension set-up issue with his trike and asked that he call the factory so that we can give him detailed information on his options. If we somehow miss him before you hear from him, please tell him to call the factory at 800-331-0705. Thanks!!

This may not be the correct place for this post, but felt the need to post this. We bought our trike kit from Horizon Trikes down in Clarksville,Ar. back in 2012. They were great to deal with, built a high quality trike and paint job was fantastic. We have now traveled approximately 25K miles with zero problems. We absolutely love our Roadsmith. Can't wait till next June. We are headed out to Ariz, Utah and Colorado on a 11 day ride. For anyone that reads Triketalk, you can't go wrong with a Roadsmith.

Hear, hear, you're at the right place. I love to read about the RS, and other brands as well, the rides, the planned rides. I know I'm getting the most I can from mine.

I need the dimensions of the chrome rear roadsmith wheels. Although the wheels look good I am wanting a different look.
Something like the old Craig wheels

Dirtdobber - First of all sorry for the late reply. The dimensions on our rear wheels are:

16x7 Chrome, 5 x 4.5 35mm offset.

If you have any questions please let us know. Thanks for riding Roadsmith!

Tony's trikes retired as many knows.
I have a small leak on the left side when the axle goes into the rear end. It is leaking between the boot and rear end housing.
Will any dealer warranty it?
KD cycles is the closest, I have sent them a email.
Any suggestions?

Tony trikes has been around for some time. Got his first grand child. I don't blame him. When I got mine from him I figured he was either getting ready to retire or cut back a lot. He retired.
Tony and his wife are good people.

I see somewhere on this thread that someone with a Valkerie posted a question about Tailight bulbs.. I am having my Harley FLHXS converted to a RoadSmith HDTR. Question is the tailight bulb a 1157? And what radiant bulb works best for max illumination? Also, does Roadsmith offer passenger Handrails similar to the new Harley Freewheeler?

Thanks for the response> the 1800 has fuel injection. And you're right, the speedo is off. I'm going to check with The Trike Shop about the aux tank procedures. Ron

Your speedo was off by at least 7% when it left the factory as a 2 wheeler. Trike kits don't correct the problem. All metric bikes come that way. Nobody knows why.

they will usually say ... I always Google to check details 1157 is on the way out they got quite a selection of replacement LEDs much brighter and 10-15 year life .... from and Electrician .... LM retired AO .... Hand rails unknown by me ... mine is a Champion Conversion Electra Glide .... it used the original ones

I still cannot seem to get anyone to tell me what Tail light bulbs come in an HDTR. I want to convert them on my Trike which is being built at Ace. I want to order them from Radiantz but not sure which bulb and color?:xzqxz:

You can order brighter bulbs from Radiantz at this link here LED Lighting for Motorcycles, Cars, Trucks & UTVs -

You'll want the Z-Towerz Red 1157 p/n 3701-17. JagJeep on this forum tried them on his Valkyrie trike, which uses the same tail lights, and he had great luck with them.

Let us know if you have any other questions, and thanks for choosing Ace Trike & Roadsmith!

Thanks, for the help. One more question: What about Passenger Grab rails like the ones Harley is putting on their new Freewheeler. Does RoadSmith have anything like that ?

I'm afraid we don't offer anything like that, however most aftermarket options, like Kuryakyn's, work in conjunction with the trike kit. That would be a good thing to ask your dealer about.
