We're Buying Dinner! Winner

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

Coopers, Scranton PA.. Great seafood and steaks. Crab cakes, or surf and turf, my favorite is the seafood fra diavolo. They have an appetizer of three soups: Crab bisque ; lobster bisque AND alligator soup. They also need a separate menu for their beer list. Over 100 different beer's in stock. The entire restaurant is loaded with movie and TV memorabilia, famous newspaper headlines, and actors that ate there. ThumbUp Tom :Trike1:

Update. Ate there tonight, awesome as usual. They now carry 448 different beers. With 40 on tap. The beer menu is now 4 pages, front and back. My favorite, Hoegaarden on tap. Belgium white wheat beer. :D Tom :Trike1:

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

Our favorite is The Pit Rib House. And our favorite meal there is well, um...Ribs. The BBQ sauce is on the sweet side.

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

The Steak Peddler in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, booth in the back by the windows with a view of the Little Pigeon River. One of the best steak dinners east of the Mississippi to say NOTHING about the Smokey Mountain National Park area and what it means to bikers/trikers. Love the area, the people and the culture.

OK, now I'm making myself homesick for East Tennessee. And no, I've never lived there, just been going down there since 1955. So I guess local means anything I can get to in a days time???

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

In tupelo we have Steele's dive local owner. Has great lunches every day, at night absolute the best whisky soaked steaks.

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

its hands down Park Road Bar and Grill in Patterson Mo (population about 50). for what ever reason this cajun move to s.e. mo. and opened this grill called Wally's sea food. Now I love New Orleans, but in this one horse little town is the best cajun food I have ever eaten. He makes a cream sauce with chunks of shrimp and crab and who knows what else .... I swear you could put this sauce on cardboard and it would be good. also has great gumbo, steaks, alligator, oysters, stuffed lobster...... the place will only seat about 40 people . Wally himself goes to la.

every week or so to pick up fresh seafood. You don't want to go on Friday or Saturday nights. you cant get a seat.

its on the road to

Sam A Baker State Park about 120miles south west of St Louis mo:pepper::pepper::pepper:.

amended : my favorite is ....fried oyster plate with a bowl of sea food etouffe

they also have quail and duck (not for me) the wife is crazy about the crab cakes smothered in the cream sauce.

If your buying or not , If you are coming this way to eureka springs send me a p.m. and we will go eat at wally's (anytime!) pictures will follow when I go next.

Alliger's House of Wings in Sayre PA right off I86 on the NY/PA border, just before RT. 220. 26 different chicken wing sauces. If you're on your way to the PA Grand Canyon it's not too far away. There's lots of other goodies on their menu but they are famous for their wings. Great beer selection too.

Since my favorite steak house is no more, I still like breakfast as my favorite meal. No one does it better here than De Dutch. Famous for it's Pannekoeken.

Menu and pics of some great breakfasts here: http://www.dedutch.com/menus/

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

The winner is Rosy. What I didn't tell you all is that the winner would be chosen primarily based on the number of posts (quantity and quality) contributed since the contest began and of those who entered the contest, Rosy excelled.

Thanks to all who entered and to all who contribute daily to the forum. Sharing yourselves and your knowledge is invaluable to all of us here and is very, very much appreciated by all who read your posts, so this meal for two is a token of our appreciation. Keep em coming and you could be the next winner.

The winner will need to scan or photograph and email a copy of their dinner receipt (dated after today's date) to me at admin@triketalk.com to receive reimbursement of up to $50.00. Photos of the meal and participants would be real nice too. Enjoy your dinner on us!
