Re: We're Buying Dinner!

To keep the peace in my house and to insure my romatic opportunities don't decrease, I'm going my wife's favorite.... May's in Frederick MD. She is a crab lover and they do it up right. I'm not a foodie, so I usually have the chicken sandwich covered in bacon and cheese or chicken tenders. But she loves it there. Great crab house....

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

Jasper's Italian Restaurant in Kansas City, Mo. Just celebrated their 60th anniversary. Voted a top 20 Italian Restaurant by Zagat and People Magazine. Also, Jasper is a PERSONAL friend of mine. He takes care of me and our friends. He makes killer Orange and Limoncello. His food (all of it) is top quality using local sources whenever possible. Prices are moderate. He also does tableside Mozzerella.. and he knows, that to be successful, the owner needs to be there. He works 6 days a week in his place. You enter hungry..you leave full..with a new friend. And please..guys...no hats!

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

One of our favorites is Goodwood BBQ here in Meridian ID. They ship in huge thick meaty BEEF ribs from Texas that are like wrasslin' a gianormous messy slathered dripping spicy sweet sauced meat gator!!!!!, and no one else in this valley has them. When we are with certain people, the rule is you can't wipe your face till you are done eating the whole 1/2 rack. Sauce in your nose, ears, hair, everywhere.

They are a local owned company and they have the best potato salad, baked beans, pork ribs, brisket, ribeyes, chicken,, fresh crunchy salads with ranch dressing..... ! jalopeno bisquits, strong likker drinks with Crown, and cold beers...

Never had a bad meal there!! And they sell their secret BBQ sauce too...

WOW..."where to start"...I've literally "filled a forum" with Pics of Great Eateries from lots of various Rides over the years (BEAS-Chattanooga, Tn...CATFISH HOTEL-Shiloh, Tn...SUNSHINE CAFE-Franklin, NC, etc., etc.)....being "STAFF", I don't expect a Freebie Meal, but for conversation sake, I've acquired a New Personal Favorite in Sevierville, Tn...JOES CRAB SHACK....Anything They have in a Steam Pot, but my Favorite is the Cajun Steamed Version...2 kinds of Crab Legs, Shrimp, Sausage, Corn-on-the-cob, and Red Skin Potatoes...add a Draft Land Shark Brew, and MMMMMM....Oh Yeah.....ThumbUp...Hmmm, might need to make the 200+ mile one way trip over to get some after typing this...:D

Bob's Resort overlooking the Missouri River west of Gettysburg, SD. The best steak dinner you'll ever eat in an area known for great steaks. A beautiful view while you dine too!

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

Wife's kinda partial to Outback, but for me it's Linda's Southern Kitchen in Granbury, Texas. Just discovered them not too long ago. It's an hour ride away, but worth it.

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

its hands down Park Road Bar and Grill in Patterson Mo (population about 50). for what ever reason this cajun move to s.e. mo. and opened this grill called Wally's sea food. Now I love New Orleans, but in this one horse little town is the best cajun food I have ever eaten. He makes a cream sauce with chunks of shrimp and crab and who knows what else .... I swear you could put this sauce on cardboard and it would be good. also has great gumbo, steaks, alligator, oysters, stuffed lobster...... the place will only seat about 40 people . Wally himself goes to la.

every week or so to pick up fresh seafood. You don't want to go on Friday or Saturday nights. you cant get a seat.

its on the road to

Sam A Baker State Park about 120miles south west of St Louis mo:pepper::pepper::pepper:.

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

Well I know this won't win anything, but when we went to Duff's in Daytona, for BikeWeek RTE, I was sure impressed. An all you can eat buffet. Cannot recall better eats and better social hour with many trikers.

Bent Oak restaurant is at Bent Oak Golf course. Most people in the area assume that since Bent Oak is a private golf course the restaurant is also private, but it is always open to the public. We eat there 3-4 times a week. We have many favorites at the restaurant ranging from all you can eat fish on Friday evenings to a Sunday Brunch Buffet. The Sunday Brunch Buffet is our absolute favorite. Brunch includes everything from eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. to fish, shrimp, ham and prime rib. The buffet also includes a wide variety of deserts. We never leave hungry after dining at Bent Oak, especially on Sundays!

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

We like to eat at the Altona Supper Club in New Holstein, Wi.
The food is terrific.
They have a "You Can Eat" 5 meat Buffet plus salad bar and dessert, all for $9.95

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

OSM, is that the one just east of Hoosier Harley? One of my favorite place is Stacy's at Eagle Lake just east of Edwardsburg,Mi. They have the best prime rib. For a dollar more you can get it Char Broiled. It's like eating a steak. Normally I don't care for prime rib. You get a salad that's like a chef salad. OSM, you should really try Stacy's.

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

Wow, All these post about eating, Reminds me of how I won a Humanitarian award.. My old man would always tell me I have to finish all the food on my plate, and not throw any away, Because all the kids in Europe are starving,
So I guess I must have saved quite a few starving kids by cleaning my plate off.. ?;)

All kidding aside, My favorite place is Mickey ''D''s ,With the Grandkids..

The one just east of Hoosier Harley is Christiana Creek. Bent Oak is on the south side of Elkhart near Mishawaka Road and CR 7. We haven't been to Stacy's yet. We'll have to try it soon.

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

I can never win this, and I'll tell you why at the end of my story. Jake's Steak House, in my home town. Absolutely the best steak I have ever had, and I've had alot. No matter where ever I was, I always compared the steak to Jakes, and none can compare.

It's very informal place, practically hard to get into on a Fri. or Sat. night. It started over 50 years ago by a Greek family. In the beginning they had only two choices, #1, the standard 8 oz steak, and #2,a 10 oz filet mignon, my fav. Many more were added over the years, up to 20 or more, but #2 was all I ever had.

You walk in the door, go to the front of the counter, place your order, by number, then move down the line. You can take your salad now, or wait for the meal. They give you a ticket number, and you go find a place to sit, eat your salad, and go crazy smelling all those steaks around you. When they call your number, you go back, they drop a perfectly baked potato on your plate, a huge piece of garlic bread, and you're on your way to chomping into the best steak in the world.

Now, the reason I can't win. In the 50 year history of the steak house, older people retired, and younger ones moved in. It finally got to the point where the younger ones in the end, were more interested in spending their profits on cocaine and whatever else, and eventually it was closed down. A very sad day when I heard that.

......so sad, and unfortunately, becoming the "new normal" in this "totally trying to change the USA" new atmosphere that's being pushed onto us......:(

Re: We're Buying Dinner!

Coopers, Scranton PA.. Great seafood and steaks. Crab cakes, or surf and turf, my favorite is the seafood fra diavolo. They have an appetizer of three soups: Crab bisque ; lobster bisque AND alligator soup. They also need a separate menu for their beer list. Over 100 different beer's in stock. The entire restaurant is loaded with movie and TV memorabilia, famous newspaper headlines, and actors that ate there. ThumbUp Tom :Trike1:
