I just thought I would post a short 356 mile ride Patricia and I took this weekend. For those snow bound I am sorry about this (for you not me ) Saturday morning the tempature was around 34f but by 10 it was in the mid fourties by ten AM, and 67 shortly after Saturday and Sunday and Monday all about the same and lots of sun. We rode to Beaufort SC a historical coastal city on port royal. This city was abandoned by the south during the civil war and used by the north to service their war ships not a shot was fire during the war in this city. Many much older homes still stand in Beaufort as Sherman never came there and why would he ? The historic zone is very interesting and goes back to the 1700's . We rode back roads down mostly 176 and 21 a easy ride. Now on the way back Pat wanted to take a new rout she worked up and let me tell you trikes don't like mud roads nore do I, but some how Pat found the road from hell for us, took me hours to clean the wing and still I can't get the mud on the wheels off ! But all in all we had a great time and even rode on the beach a little and also walked around the old light house on Huntington Island and made a feast out of some darn good sea food. If you like History you'll love Beaufort and the sourounding islands try it !
