Warning about "godmode" post below

This worked fine on my windows 8.1 machine but crashed my wife's Vista Home Premium. I've yet to resolve the problem but did find this notice on web: this is exactly what happened.

NOTE: Original poster did say at the end that it only works on Windows 7 and up. I just didn't read far enough. This post is for the dummies like me who don't read to the bottom of the instructions. :xzqxz:

"An important note needs to be made about Windows Vista. While this trick is safe for all versions of Windows 7 (both 32bit and 64bit), the situation for Vista is different. Windows Vista 32bit users can use this trick, but Vista 64-bit users can not. It will cause your system to enter an Explorer crash loop."

THAT is exactly why, as a computer chicken, I did some checking before doing it! I guess being a chicken does help sometimes.

Actually, contrary to many people's experience, her computer has remained remarkably stable and fast with what she does. That's why she hasn't changed it yet.
