If you have not checked out VANDERHALLUSA.COM I a while, then you have not seen their newest release: The Vanderhall Speedster. Check it out. And, check out there proposed Venice R and Speedster R models for 2020.

I have confirmed, only Saddle Brown interior from factory. And, while every photo of the
new Speedster on their web site shows it with a rear fender….that is not part
of the factory vehicle – it’s an accessory purchase. I think Vanderhall should make the rear
fender standard equipment for their vehicles.

I like the concept of the Speedster, but I think the interior color kills it for me. And, by the time you pay to change that interior, you at the cost of a normal Venice…….don’t understand that marketing strategy.

Speedsters are starting to ship. I saw that they are only making 250 units. It is one of their best looking Vanderhalls and enough storage space to live on the road. It is however a solo experience. Couples will have to buy 2! The rear fender is not required due to the rear overhang, however water will enter the driver compartment at low speed around 10mph.

This is a ridiculous excuse to building a vehicle in my opinion! BOUTIQUE goes out ghe window when you build a 1 million square feet facility to build you vehicles! If they can't handle putting the larger fenders or different interior at the factory, something is wrong with their marketing ! There is a difference between buying "off the dealer inventory " which would be understandable for options and ordering a vehicle. NOBODY wants fenders, exhaust, interior parts laying around they have no use for and very little prospect of selling. Come on VANDERHALLMOTORCYCLE, serve your customers as you would like to be served ! I am one of your potential customers ! Tomg

I don't think that Vanderhall is in the new building yet. I have been to Provo to see the manufacturing floor and it is much smaller. Not to take a new vehicle sale away from Vanderhall, but have you considered used. There is a used unit on the forum with $5K in options and low miles for a good price. Also it is in Florida! This is a copy of the post. Not sure if it is still available.

Are you on the Vanderhall Owners Forum on Facebook? There has been a lot of discussion regarding the Carmel. Several people are very excited for its release and are dying for information. Value and features have been discussed. User boyerd may be able to give insight on release dates. We bought a Laguna and love the doors. Once we got past the initial sticker shock, we were quite pleased. Much like your beautiful Stallion, the Carmel will stand out in a crowd.

I'm not on the owners forum as I don't have one yet! And I don't do Facebook. I just hope with the new very large facility, they start to understand what those of us that ride thousands of miles would like to see where we can see issues that can be easily corrected at the factory. Drain holes should be for all the vehicles, not drilled holes at the dealer! Tomg

Tomg, you don't have to be a member of the Owners forum to check out posts. There are many people there that are seeking info about the product.To be honest, I don't have a Facebook account either, I use my wife's to post. I never found a need for Facebook until I got a Vanderhall and wanted to find info and others to share with.

The Carmel is a result of experienced folks like yourself. Wider body, more power, doors, opening hood, bigger wheels, ac option, cupholder and more. All of these things are a result of customer feedback. You have a lot to offer. Be patient with Vanderhall as I have. I want them to grow at a sustainable pace to be in it for the long haul. User boyerd is here to help us. Very few manufactures would bother with direct customer contact.

Regarding drain holes, I prefer not having them. I wouldn't add them until I had a water pooling problem. I don't drive in the rain unless it is absolutely necessary. You have a lot to offer, it just takes time.

Thanks Ken, So far, I've never trailered my trike. I've made several trips which amounted to 3500-4000 miles each and another 10 trips back and forth to Maggie Valley, NC and Pigeon Forge, Tenn. When out on the interstates, it's hard not get wet at times as well as just your everyday 150 mile rides. There is always a practical solution! TrikeTalk is full of riders like me who love spending time on the road and nobody deliberately says lets go ride in the rain today but, sometimes you really don't have a choice. Tomg

Tomg, nice conversation! Like yourself, Sandy and I almost always preferred to ride to our destinations. We have driven to 38 states on many cross country trips. Been everywhere on motorcycles except the southwest. Been in rain so thick we couldn't see the bikes ahead. We never could got more than 2 weeks off, so we were limited to how far we could go. We did trailer south twice for Daytona bike week. Once, my daughter and I rode to Daytona, it was 28 degrees when we left home. Wore snomobile suits and electrics, didn't take them off till we hit Florida! Been cross country with my son, we hit road construction so muddy in South Dakota that it filled the spokes. To be young and adventurous was great.

Not so much now. The Vanderhall is new to us and age has forced some changes. Getting softer. Don't like cleaning the vehicle so much. Now we love day trips up to 400 miles. We are retired and watch the weather app closely to avoid rain. On multi day trips we like to take the motorhome and car hauler to a destination and travel new roads. Love having the King size bed and a portable garage. There was a time when I made fun of friends that trailered, not to much now.

Have you sold your Stallion yet? From what I've seen you are a pioneer. Pre-order that Carmel and enjoy. We encountered many naysayers, but we believe! Thanks for listening.

Just put the Stallion up for sale and had a couple of nibbles and couple of scammers. So I can wait for the time! I'm still waiting to actually see in writing what are standard and what are options. They have that famous asterisk stating shown with options. So you really don't know what's what! Like all the paint photos look Like a 2 tone all with black bottom so is that stand or optional. Side pipes on the Carmel are longer so are the ones shown standard or optional. Are the wheels shown standard? Does it come with fenders on both ends? We just need more info about all options and more photos. Makes a guy feel like a mushroom sometimes ! Tomg

Thanks Ken, you went thru a lot to update those who have an interest in the Carmel . The forum info is interesting and informative. The second part I have read and compared measurements between the Venice and Carmel. I wonder where they came up with the 7" wider body and my measurements actually showed a slightly narrower overall width and track? The service manager at the Orlando dealer went to Provo for training and did say the the Carmel has a 3" wider chassis but didn't have numbers for the body width. Right now it's just a wait and see! Tomg, these Carmel images were taken by Greg Brown, one of the forum members, at the show in Vegas. It was the first showing of the Carmel. The Bronze unit was a special color for show and will not be offered. Humps behind seats are larger than Venice. You can see in the interior that extra space is between seats and the dash layout is different. I think the grill piece in front of the hood will be an option. If you do a Google search of Vanderhall Carmel and the select images, it will show more images. By selecting some of images you will find more images and some write ups. The internet is one big rabbit hole!

Thanks Ken, more good info and photos! Trust me, I do check the Vanderhallmotorcycle web page almost daily for ANY updates or New photos. The info and photos that you have provided makes me want one even more! Be even nicer if I had one before the Snowbird Get Together that I put together down here in Florida. It's butts right up to the first day of Bike Week so with all the riding we will be doing in the greater Daytona area at that time would undoubtedly bring more attention to Vanderhallmotorcycle at the speedway during Bike Week . Still no word on the A/C, top or other options. Tom

I found that Vanderhall announces early to inform and build interest. Patience is hard, but required. They are still a small company with huge dreams. They are just starting to move into the new factory where the Carmel will be built. It is phase 1 of a multi year project to expand to 1M sq ft. Doubt that Carmel will be out before bike week.

I've heard some estimates that the roof and a/c will be less than $7K. Besides the new models listed on the website, they are expanding into Europe and will be at the Brussels Auto Show. I am amazed at their growth. They have at least doubled production every year since 2015.

When Sandy and I first heard of Vanderhall in Dec 2016, we placed a deposit on a Venice. We eventually purchased a Laguna and applied our deposit to it 18 months later. If you are interested in Carmel, I suggest you place a deposit to get in line. Vanderhall will contact you to determine what path you want to take. Deposits are fully refundable, they just buy a place in line and get the conversation started.

I don't gain anything from Vanderhall sales, I just try to be a positive ambassador for them. Sometimes it's just a leap of faith.

Both are preproduction and may be slightly different than production. Neither appear to have a/c or tops. They do have modified windshield mounts to accommodate the top. Search YouTube for Vanderhall Carmel for a few more videos.

Thanks again Ken, I'm close but if they would just come out and say that we could order with accessories of choice and not be charged twice for items we don't want or need, I'd order today!! Also at Biketoberfest, their vehicles were discounted so there is room to negotiate! Paying sticker price wouldn't be as bad if you could have accessories in with the deal depending on how many and related cost of course. It's just frustrating being teased with what would probably be my last trike/autocycle/3 wheeled vehicle or whever the states agree to call it and not being able to get all the information directly from the factory. Even the dealers don't have the info so I'm reluctant to plop down money without knowing at least the approximate cost involved. Tom
