Can't help you with those kits other than my 1500 GW I could not keep u-joints in them .I have had 4 CSC Valkyrie trikes , one which I put 307k on with not one u joint, (inline drive shaft). Still riding a 2000 Valk. Interstate. Make sure you rake it . Not like a Goldwing they must be raked . rjreeves@charter.net 931-247=4502
Having owned a 1500 GW MT for several years I would have to agree about the driveshaft. The MT is a great conversion but the offset drive shaft is a source of problems. The inline would be a major deciding factor for me.

<div class="message">Well actually... I am thinking of doing the install myself. I don't see any reason why I couldn't other than maybe MT not selling me the kit unless it's installed by a stealer.</div>

Hi Big Eagle, I just got back on here and saw your post.......You probably already put your trike on but if you look at my profile picture, its a DFT Smoothie and has a 9 cuft trunk on it. and that why I bought it, and the handling. Its on a 2000 Vauk.....

ya know..i don't know what it is about people and MT. drivelines being offset. my valk motortrike has 141,000 miles on it..original u-joint front and rear..i pull the driveshaft every 10,000 miles and grease the rear joint and splines on the front joint. it might be MY opinion but i'm beginning to wonder if those that have driveline problems just arn't servicing them the way they should be..or if the trike was properly set up with the angles set properly. and trust me..i ride mine like a stole it. spinning the wheels bringing front end off the ground on occasion keeping up with crotch rockets on whindy mountain passes. or at least trying to keep up with them..i do a pretty good job though. i do carry a spare u-joint just in case but to this day have never needed it.

Does anyone have a CSC kit on a Valk Interstate. Mine is being converted now for a March delivery as the weather in Ky. is horrible now. I liked the look and fit of the CSC and was hoping that someone has one already done that could give me some advice/experience on theirs. Thanks.

Hey Dan,
Give us some details on the mishap as I surely do not want mine to be involved in a wreck like this. Could someone have made the FAMOUS LEFTY in front of you? Or was this at your favorite parking lot backer-outer-did not see you person"

Hi all,
And thanks for the concerns.
This picture is of my beloved 2000 Valk/CSC. It had (has) just over 6,000 miles on the odometer when this accident occured. My wife and I where passing through Montgomery, AL at the time. It was three o'clock on a Friday afternoon, rush hour traffic, 102 degrees. We were in the left lane headed south. The light turned green, I took off, and a young man (of questionable heritage!!) in a Honda Accord decided that he could make a left turn (from the east bound lane) before anybody got going. I could not see him across traffic. He smacked us on the right side in the front wheel and flipped the trike. It's a wonder we didn't get run over!! We were lucky. Broke my right wrist and banged us up a bit. Lot's of bruses and some road rash. I had my flip up helmet opened and almost got some teeth knocked out. (Note to self. Close helmet, stupid). I firmly believe that had we been on a two wheeled machine, we would have been in much worse shape.
This accident happened in June of 2007. I still have that wrecked trike in storage. I will rebuild it....................some day.

Thanks Dan,
I appreciated knowing that you both are alright. I guess that also tells me that I need to get a full face helmet. It also tells me that three wheels are a bit more stable than what I thought. Good riding to both of you and hope to meet you sometime at one of the rallies or get togethers.
Gabby

Hello All,
This is my first post here. I've got a 2001 Valkyrie Standard that I've been wanting to trike for a while now. Done a lot of research and I've narrowed it down to two contenders. I really like the body style of the Motor Trike for the Valk, but I'm leaning towards the DFT because of the suspension. The one thing that really bugs me with the DFT is the trunk lifts up instead of out. The Motor Trike trunk opens out so adding another trunk on top wouldn't be a problem. DFT... Motor Trike... DFT... Motor Trike... If it weren't for that stupid trunk lid I'd be DFT all the way.

Suggestions???

Have you looked at the kits by TriWing in Victoria BC? I have had my 2001 Interstate triked with a Triwing kit since 2008 and like it. I had a Steerite rake kit for front with progressive front springs done in the fall of 2008 and it made all the difference in ride and handling from stock front end. Steerite is in Kamloops BC, I ordered parts and my wing mechanic did it.

I am on Vancouver Island if you want some photos, email me at tiggern2@telus.net.

I had a motortrike on a Valk. Great bike not so good trike. I had an interference between the trike frame and the Axle. I fixed the interference and sold the trike. I now have a Roadsmith. It has independent suspension and a rear opening trunk. Sounds like that would be the ticket for you.The Trike shop will sell to you direct also.

I went with the Roadsmith kit, when I checked with Dtf, they said they only had the smoothie kit for my interstate and the mt kit has the smallest trunk. Can't get a full face helmet in it I was told. Didn't like the look of the smoothie and wanted a bigger trunk. Checked Roadsmith, liked the look, has a large trunk, independent suspension and longer wheel base.

I am on my third VALKYRIE TRIKE . Love the bikes . Had one standard , and two Interstate. I think the C.S.C is the only kit for a 1500. The inline drive shaft is important. I put 307k on a 2000 Valkyrie trike and never put a U joint in it . Went through three sets of cam belts. and three sets of Alt. brusues.

I have owned 6 trikes. The M.T. I could not keep U joints in . I love the C.S.C. kits on the 1500 Goldwings and Valkyrie's. I have one Valkyrie Interstate I put 307k miles on it with no problems . I don't like there 1800 kit but sure love there 1500 kits . I have owned three Valkyrie's with there kits and have had no problems , and my main trike now is a 2000 Interstate with only 50k on it.

JUST A QUICK QUESTION IS A 99 VALK INTERSTATE W/3 TR. OLD CSC KIT 21K ON THE clock is it worth 16K out the door because id like to know if I got screwed or full retail or good deal or just a fair deal ?

Don't worry

yOU CANT HURT MY FELLING.... I just Dont have anybody to sak or compair prices with with so few available

DON

Hi Don, I think that price is a fair deal for that trike.. There are not that many of them around and if she is in nice shape with no problems.. then a fair deal for sure.. IMHO .. Jeff

I think that a very fair price.

Being that I also own a Valkyrie Trike, I always keep a lookout to see what the current prices are and what the sellers actually get. If your trike is in good shape, the price you paid was worth it!

I have had 4 Valkyrie trikes . All were C.S.C but one and I can tell you I love the C.S.C kit for both standard and Interstate . I put 307k on a 2000 Interstate and never put anything on the bike but alt. brushes and belts . I had a M.T. and could not keep U joints in it . It was a wing . I now have a C.S.C. Interstate with 60k on it and no problems. I extend my front forks and rake it so it turns easy.
