V-star finished at last!

Hi all from sunny England. Finally finished the 650 for my wife, just waiting for the paperwork to come back from registration & we'll be all set. Did all the work myself including welding/fabrication & all the shortening of the axle etc. Made the exhausts in one piece which is a bit awkward to remove the front one but worth it for the look. Hope you like it. Bob.:)SS850009.JPGSS850008.JPGSS850007.JPGSS850014.JPG

Hi Rickus Dickus, sorry for the late reply but we've been out & about on the trikes. As to how the brakes work on Tina's 650 V-Star, it goes like this.

As the bike had a manually operated rear drum brake i.e. solid rod to the rear from the brake pedal & turning a pivot joint halfway through, I had to fit a master cylinder & reservoir. I used the same one as the rear one on my XVS1100. I mounted it almost vertically just behind the pivot joint which had to be reworked to push the cylinder & not pull the rod, if you see what i mean. I then worked out the best angle for everything & then fabricated a suitable bracket to mount it all. I ran the reservoir line up to just behind the seat, it's a bit tight but it just fits. From the master cylinder its just a matter of a new hydraulic brake line to a 3 way splitter & then 2 lines to each of the wheels. I hope this helps my friend & if you need any more info i would be happy to send some pics. Take it easy all, Bob.:)

Lovely trike!

Do you have any pictures of the driveshaft details?
