Unsure on Tire Size

Will a 130-80-R18 fit the front of a Goldwing GL1800. Have heard to use either a Battlax or MPA with balance beads. Any help would be appreciated.:Coffee:

Ive heard of using a 140 70 18 but I think a 130 80 18 might rub. And for what a front fender costs you might want to be sure.

It works on the 1500 not the 1800. I noticed an R in your mention.of . size. That would mean Radial. That is a no no... Do not use a Radial on the front f a trike.... I know you have radials on the back. Still no. Side walls are too soft. Bias ply is the tire to use....ONLY

Depending on the tire and brand sometimes the "R" stands for rear tire. Sometimes the manufacturer has what they call recommended match sets for their tires for certain models.

Went with MPA 130-70-18 rear tire mounted correctly (not reversed) and balanced out with Ride On. Took out TPMS sensor and had 90 degree valve stem installed (TPMS is disconnected with CSC kit anyway). Bike rides and steers great.

Have been looking for a thread on the correct tire size for the front of my triked '89 goldwing. No luck with the search engine...
Want to go with the Michelin tire everyone talks about.

Thanks for the help in advanced.

I took delivery on my 2002 GL1800/CSC 2013 Cobra, my dealer installed a Michelin Pilot Activ, 130/80-18. The tire did not rub the tire but the small rock that get picked up by the tire do rub. After 1,000 miles I had them take the tire off and install my orginal front Elite 3 tire. I now have about 3,000 trike miles on that tire along with about 5,000 when it was on the bike. With the 130/80-18 tire there was a 1/4'' clearance of the tire and fender. I have Centramatic balancers.
