Well, I finally got to ride yesterday. 28* for a 2 hour ride.
Problem = I couldn't find the off button for the GPS. Since it was so cold out, I didn't want to stand there trying to figure out how to turn it off. I was able to lower the audio so I couldn't hear "Off route/make a U turn/next left turn around" etc. etc., but it kept interrupting the music. I did delete all destinations hoping that would stop the directions, but NOOOOO! it kept giving me directions to who knows where.
Anybody know off hand how to turn off the GPS???

At least if was fun finally getting on the road again after 3 months of being snowbound. ThumbUp

for what ever reason , when it was too cold , my button for my odometer would not work. now that its a little warmer, works fine.

maybe the gps was trying to tell you to go back home.

Quite possible, Tom. :)

One thing I did notice was opening the fairing vent reduced the helmet buffiting a lot.

That's a tuff question since we don't know what your using for a GPS. Hand held? Built in? Honda? Harley? What I do know is if it's on a TriGlide it's a push button on the left grip. Push in = on/off. Yellow light on dash. Push down set. Push up resume.

EDIT: Well, six and 1/2 hours later I realised I'm on the Harley Forum. So I got a 50/50 shot at it!

GaryD,

On my 2014 TG the Navigation system is convoluted compared to my Garmin [used in my truck].

But here's the way to shut it off:

In the Navigation menu system, select "RECENT". That will bring up the current 'route' at the top of the screen. On the right side of the screen there is a scroll bar. Centered in the scroll bar is the image of a 'garbage can'. Click it.

You will be prompted if you want to delete 'all destinations'. That's up to you, but either way it will stop the current [highlighted] route.

The previous poster was describing how to turn on/off the cruise control.

Sorry, I forgot to mention it is a 2014.
Never had a problem with my Garmin Zumo 660. That's why I kept it and will use it as a back up when I go on vacation. ThumbUp

Don, like I said, I finally deleted "All destinations", but that didn't do anything.
I don't even know where it was directing me to. I have no favorites entered yet and the directions don't mean anything to me. :gah:

Garyd,

I guess I need to pay more attention to what I read also. I read your original post, sympathized with you, and proceeded to post my response. In my haste as a know it all I failed to remember that you said you deleted "all destinations".

I don't know why that didn't work for you. I "think" it has always worked for me . . . but now I'm not so sure. I'm going to establish a route, then try to shut it down, and see if it works on mine or if I have skipped a step . . . or if I'm just getting old and forgetful.

I'll post again if I discover anything new.

Regards,

DON

Gary I am not where I can go look but if I remember right there is a box on the right side of the screen and when you have a route in process to follow there should be a selection to stop navigation. select the box and see if gives you that option, like I said I am trying to use my old memory.

I have that on the GPS in my car and on the Garmin Zumo 660, but didn't see it on the Harley unit - too damn cold to stand outside and look for it. I would think deleting all destinations would produce the same results.
