the manuals are on the disc..or you can get them online from TTS Mastertune site..

I made up a printed manual versus looking at it on the computer..

Yes you can install the program first before hooking it up to your trike..Then pick a tune from there list that is close to what you have on your bike now..Like mufflers, air cleaner etc..once you have read and installed the disc and are ready hook up the cables and save your stock settings first..then upload a tune and after that VTUNE the trike..You will have to have your computer with you and the manual tells you how to setup your computer to do this or your vtune will not be correct..

BUT PLEASE READ THE MANUAL FIRST>>Remember to save your stock setting first once you have read the manual

good luck

Hank,

Nothin to it. In fact, you don't even need the disc to install the software. I was able to download the software and all of the manuals directly from the TTS website and install it on my netbook.

Your biggest challenge is going to be performing your vtune runs. Without an external monitor of some type, you will have to make several runs before you figure out how to get enough data captured.

What I did was install software on my Android smartphone that enabled it to operate as a second monitor. I then mounted the phone on my handlebars while it communicated wirelessly with the netbook in the tourpak.

If you want more details on this configuration, let me know.

Good luck with your tuning. I actually found it quite rewarding. I got to learn more about how my bike operates while ending up with a much cooler, better-running (and better-sounding) motor.

John...im fairly dumb when it comes to getting downloads etc....
I treid the disc and it keeps askin me about SERT upgrade....Then I cant seem to find the files...I removed all programs i done from my PC and may need to get someone to help me install this...
All i really want to do with it, is my 2009 triG has a HD stage 1 download, screamin eagle AC and had SE mufflers...I swithched the mufflers to SSteel Joker machine mufflers for more sound, and the bikes mileage dropped off about 3-4 mpg, and it surges at idle now, and pops back on decel...Id just like it to run smooth again with these mufflers...
Im a carb guy tho, so this is all over an above me...LOL..Hankb

I haven't had my hands on the new one, I would think the install is still the same. When you put the disk in you should have an option to install all products which you would click on. Then you should see an option for Delphi which you want to click on, then you will see each of your selections. V-Tune, Master Tune, Auto Updater etc. You want to install each one of those, I'm assuming you got the cables so you'll have to find the option to install the drivers. Once you get everything installed you need to run the updater and download any updates there are available for what you installed.

Im not gonna be able to hook up to the bike for abit tho, as its rather friggin chilly up here and my baby is covered up shiverring in the shop..Im Ok getting this all in my PC tho???

yes..you can even hook it up and get it to communicate with your bike..the plug is on the left side of the bike under the side cover.

Have you read the manual yet?? It helps you understand and what to do with the programming of your ECM..

wondering what those round things are in your trunk??

I didnt have the option of the external monitor..I just sent up the laptop to stay on and left it in the trunk while I Vtuned..

Do they seem to work the way the description states from Harley??

Yes, but not exactly. At low speeds, they add significant bass to the music, making your music sound wonderful. This is especially true if you have some nice after-market speakers (I have J&M). However, once you get above 30mph, they add no appreciable effect whatsoever. Any bass you might have had is simply lost in the wind.

Thanks.. I know we got off the topic a bit..But seen them holes in the tour pak and needed to know what they were..

Thanks Again

One of the 1st things it is going to ask you to do when you do hook it to your trike is back up the existing ECM, it will make an file with an MTE extension. You can name it anything meaningful to you. Make sure you back this file up in a couple locations, it is the image of your ECM as it exist before you flash it. If for some reason you would ever have to put it back to stock or unlock the ECM you will need that MTE file.

I started with one of there base cals..DTA 009..Think it was for stage 1 air cleaner and 2-1-2 exhaust..Then VTuned form that point..

A TTS will never ask for a SERT update. Are you sure you are using a TTS and not a SEPro?

I'm wondering if he somehow got a hold of the SERT updater for verifying whether or not an old SERT is eligible to be updated.

Speaking of TTS, what does the USB cable for the new style of TTS look like? Is it anything special? My dad had to buy the new TTS and I haven't looked at it or bothered figuring out if I need to buy a cable from Steve.

Dave: When I see you in July I will have to tell you why I had to buy a new one.

Besides the cable from the computer to the TTS change....you will find there are two types of dongle cables as well.

The 4 pin fits all (old reliable)

The 6 pin fits the new CANBUS softails. It won't be long until the CANBUS is in all bikes so sooner or later the 4 pin will be obsolete.

You won't need...

5-V tune HD
6-Master tune HD
8-Data Master HD

They are the older software.

It's all of great interest to me. I'm seeing a guy about some mufflers tonight. Then my next step is to start with the TTS. I think here in Iowa it may be too late to drive around, just get it ready for the spring. I wish the Wiz was closer.

Just take a road trip. He would be glad to see you.:D

Question about the TTS mastertune....I have a powercommander V with autotune and so far it works good. From all that I have read, the TTS system is far better than what I have. Question 1....Can I upgrade to the TTS from the powercommander by simply removing it from the ECM. Question 2.... What are the advantages of using the TTS? Thanks for any advice
