Tom, hope all goes well! We'll miss you if you can't make it, but health first!! Will be keeping you in my thoughts for a good outcome and a speedy recovery! ray:
Have a question for you folks-- I dont have a CB on my bike, do any of you use bluetooth headsets to communicate with others? I have a set, just havent set them up yet, and the gee the summer is half over.. Hal
PS-just ordered new rainsuits, so I am sure the weather will be great
Sorry - no CB or bluetooth. I usually ride alone, but the few times I've ridden with a friend we use old fashioned hand signals, flash the lights, etc.
Well I guess it wasn't meant to be, crunched my Stalion this morning. Right side is beat up good. Not driveable , but no one hurt, my fault. So no rally, or Cape Cod. Just go back o work.
Miles was at a kennel in Jersey, thank God. My right shoulder is a little sore. I was turning left at an intersection, and it didn't want to slow down. Got it turned enough that it hopped the curb and hit a Escalade in front of it's front left wheel. Messed up the right side, and under the hood a little. Just posted picture on Facebook.
Big Dog, sorry for your mishap. Was really looking forward to seeing your Stallion.
Jeannette and I have concerns about the weather for our trip home, and we have to return on Sunday because I have a medical procedure on Monday. We booked a room at the Quality Inn in Sturbridge for Friday and Saturday nights. The cost of the room is not refundable, so we are going no matter what. If the weather continues to look bad, we will make the trip in our car. Looks like most folks in NE will be close to home. Unfortunately, traveling the interstates in the NYC area in the rain is something we are trying to avoid. Anyway, we will be there to socialize with folks who attend and to take a look at their trikes. Disappointed that we may not be able to take ours. See you soon!
Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you're alright - that's the most important thing!! Keep an eye on that shoulder too - injuries are known to show up days afterwards, as I'm sure you know well. We'll miss seeing you though!!
Big Dog, thank GOD everyone is ok . The stallion can be fix. I believe you have the fiberglass body. My stallion has the plastic body , when someone drove it , they hit the gas instead of the brake , & cracked the front ,& knocked out my head light . No one was hurt, thank God. I was told you can't fix plastic , well mine is all put back together, & it looks fine . I know yours will go back together too , & be fine . Some day, maybe this winter in Fl. we will be able to take a ride together with the TOI FL chapter. Good luck , hope you can still make the rally .

Sorry Fred. I know how much you like your trike. Well get it fixed and go on with your riding. Glad Miles was not with you. Also take care of yourself and get healed quick.
We are riding up from NY as well and watching the weather-- if we are lucky it will not take the track that brings rain on Sunday-- We too have 2 nights of hotels, but I can get out of the 2nd night- so depending on the track of the storm, either come home Saturday or leave early Sunday-- damn hurricanes-
Sorry to hear about your fender bender Fred- actually the reason I went to a 3-wheeler was after meeting the pavement at a nice speed- hope to meet you all Saturday
With the weather, I just called my wife and told her we would be heading home Sat. night. Note to Spyder. There is a ferry at 8:30pm & 10pm that night from Bridgeport.
I'm down along the SC coast right now where the full hurricane is supposed to hit Sat. I think it will be trying to follow me home. Hopefully no flight delays when I travel Wed. night or Thurs.
I'm probably the cause of the heavy rains on the way since I just washed the trike (I don't do that too often).
To all, I had the procedure on Fri., all went well. Back to the Dr. on Mon. with another appointment on Thur. I feel good still sore and weak. Sat does not look very good.
Big Dog sorry to hear of your febder bender, hope you are well
Being someone who works closely with Emergency Preparedness, if Irene doesnt change corse we will probably pass on the weekend and make sure people stay safe and respond if needed--- waiting till tomorrow to decide---
I just picked up 11 raffle prizes. I have trophies to pick up. If we are going to cancel we better make up our minds, got people driving 300 to 400 miles,,and more , I don't want anyone getting hurt. I will still go if it is not raining I got the day off already. I can't believe this is happening,:Bug2:
I think we decide tomorrow, when we know more of the speed and direction. they are starting to downgrade it up here, but that doesnt mean we wont get tropical winds--
if it holds off till Sunday than I am in and Bozo, I will join you on a late ferry.
Normally they turn right at the Outer Banks and blow by us . They are basing the fact that there is a 20% chance it could turn left into the inland . ray:
my wife called me this morning at airport to tell me that weather report says Sat for rain, but Al Roker called me personally to say it would be fine. my wife did say to make sure I pack her rain gear. Gotta love that she didn't ask if we are still going. she knows and trusts that I can ride in ANYTHING!
Not looking good, eh? Even if we get back before it really hits, might be better to be buttoning down the hatches on Saturday... will make my decision mid day, but seeing as I am charging my Sattilite Phone right now, you can guess which way I am leaning-- Safety First-- right?
Hi mates, I don't think I can make it , we may have to lower the nets on the batting cagers, & button everything down before Irene hits.
Cheri, John , & fellow trikers, if yous want to come to the seacoast sometime , we could maybe have a two day rally . Starting with a trike show for a few hours, than a ride . The ride could be along seacoast, maybe a ride to the white mountains , hey , maybe mount washington ,lol.
Could have a cook out too . NOW,yous all heard of the iron man contest, what about an irontriker trophy . The trikers would have to complet a ride, shoot a game of mini golf of 46 or lower, sink 2 out of 4 in the basket ball game , throw a ball 32mph in the speed pitch , go in the batting cagers , all five , 2 softballs, 3 baseballs, speeds are 20mph 40 mph 50 mph 60mph 70 mph , 12 pitchers per cage , you would have to hit so many in each cage . And I will let you know the 70 mph is like 84mph because it is only 40 ft to the pitching machine, not 60 ft.
Gw , when I seen your supperman piture , it got me thinking of the irontriker , lol. OK, just trying to give us something positive to think about while Irene comes to meet us . Do yous think somthing like this is doable ?
Sounds like fun Cpt Hook--- probably will come from Maine on that one---
I will post a little blurb here around 1:00, I have a call with Homeland S at noon-
