Triking to Alaska

Hi, I am from the Kelowna area in BC Canada and have owned a Lehman Goldwing trike for about a year. Having moved from my beloved Harley it took a bit of getting used to and now I love it.

I am planning to ride next June to the Arctic Circle via Fairbanks, AK. I am seeking tips and advice from anyone who has done this on a trike.

Particularly:

1. Would off road tires on the rear be worthwhile.
2. Did you need a spare.
3. Any advice on belly pans - make, model, installation etc.
4. I am thinking of using a platform carrier - the type that fit onto a trailer hitch - again any experience, tips on makes etc. would be appreciated.
Thanks.
