Trike Talk Texas Hill Country Reunion 2019

Well after some rain and a lot of traffic. We have made it to Super 8. :)

your early Robert:laugh::laugh: We are in Pampa tonite. Palo Duro tomorrow with sleep-over in Sweetwater tomorrow. Kerville on Sun. Lola is at S8 we are across the street at B/W will come across every nite.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Returned your PM with contact info.

I was happy to meet Ken and Suzanne from Linden, TX. They are camping about 1/2 mile from me. Ken had that cooker going working on a pork butt for the group!

2 rides today, last one to Bandera for a brew and stopped on the highway on the way back to watch the sunset. That one was for you, Fuzzy.

Unfortunately I am having to cancel out on the trip this year. Very disappointing as I was really looking forward to seeing everyone again. This would have been my 4th year. Everyone ride safe and enjoy. Sigh, maybe next year.

Sunman

Sorry to hear that Sunman. Hope all is well with you.

I got the furniture moved out of the bedroom and vacuumed out the carpet and pulled it and the pad out. Got fans and a humidifier running so that's about all I can do for the time being. No more heavy rain in the forecast so looks like the flooding is over.

I will be arriving today or tomorrow. Planning on today as I have a room reserved starting today and want to be there early this time. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

So I got my chores done, rake kit orders shipped, parts orders ordered and I am loading up and coming today. Yee Haw!

And I'm bringing some of Moonshine Mike's famous premium BlackBerry 'craft beverage'. I call it the "Ice Breaker". Take a few shots and you'll know why. I might even show yall some video of the ice breaker effect in action at the Maggie Valley gathering.:)

It was decided that the roll of wet carpet and pad would be best removed from the house before I left town for 5 days because despite the fans and dehumidifier, it was already starting to smell. Problem is, wet carpet is real heavy, more than me and Marge could handle, so had to wait for my son to get off work to help me haul it outside. I am leaving this morning. See yall soon.

While that carpet is GONE... you might want to look at putting down tile in its place? Area or throw rugs over the tile are easier to deal with. If not tile, you could stain the cement floor a pretty color and pattern then use the area/throw rugs over it in strategic places.

I have not been a fan of carpet for MANY years now... ever since I had a water leak problem one time and in another home did my own carpet cleaning. Tile is SO much cleaner to live with.

I second the "no carpet" suggestion. We had the same problem in a previous home with a water leak soaking all of the carpet while we were gone for a weekend. Had to replace all of the flooring in the house. When we built this house we put laminate wood flooring everywhere, the entire house is laminate flooring with area rugs where wanted. Twelve years later it still looks like new. We have sandy soil up here so I am always tracking some in and it is easy to sweep or vacuum it up.

Sorry to hear you got flooded again Zook.

That is what we did in our new place. Sealed/waxed natural concrete thruout, with indian blanket throws. Minimal dust and very easy to keep clean. Carpet and pad hold so much dirt and crud, no matter how much you clean it.

Give us a ring, ma'am, when things start heating up at the Super8. Ken

That moment you come to terms with the reality you're not getting to attend the Texas Hill Country reunion :(

Michele and I send our best, and hope that everyone has a great time. We'll miss all of ya'll!

We are going to missing you both, but it does mean one more piece of Blackforest cheesecake is available. :D

Give your sweet Michele and big hug too!

Robert

As we rode through Fredricksburg, Janiene pointed out THE BENCH, you dog. Miss seeing Michele this year....... OK, you too Randall.

Old railroad tunnel from early 1900's that was used to connected Fredericksburg to San Antonio. Houses bats now a days. Yes, they have bleachers to watch bats leave the cave in the evening hours.

Nuc, took us on a great ride to Lukenbach , Bat Tunnel & the Apple pie in Medina. today. Back roads so back, thought he might be lost but he wasn't. Thanks for a great ride Pat.

:Agree: We saw Texas Longhorns, Buffalo, Wildebeests, a gorgeous White-tail buck, old rock buildings and rock fences, and...and.... we were back in the boonies. Decent narrow roads, twisties... Yes... EXCELLENT ride!
