Hi everyone, I'm moving to Ottowa from the UK. I currently have a GL1500 Panther Trike in the UK and when that was converted we had to fill out various forms to change the Vehicle log book from motorcycle to tricycle. I am looking at buying a triwing conversion and converting another GL1500 when I get to Ottowa but have no idea where to start with the paperwork so wondered if anyone had any experience of this or could offer any advice! Thanks guys 🤗

Hayley, before you buy any brand of trike kit.....you should look at the RIV program (Registration Of Imported Vehicles) to see if the kit you want to use is OK to import into Canada.
There are no kits manufactured in Canada that I know of so all kits have to be imported (primarily from the USA) and not all of them are approved for import.
I have a Lehman kit that was installed at Lindsay Honda, in Lindsay Ontario. They are a reputable installer and you might want to call them for some advice.
Lindsay may not be the closest installer to Ottawa, (I would think a 4 hours drive) but I'm not familiar with any other.
Maybe someone closer to Ottawa can chime in!

I tried to Google Tri-wing.....and none of their web sites would respond. Does anyone know if they are still in business?

Good morning from a very Foggy UK! Yeah I spoke to Tri Wing and the lady there was great only she didn't know about registration laws in Ontario? My search continues! Thank you for all your help so far though guys xx:D

When you purchase a vehicle in Canada, you will receive what we call an ownership and license plates from the Ministry of Transportation. The ownership registers the vehicle in your name.

As far as converting your motorcycle to a trike goes, the kit is considered an accessory, so nothing has to happen to your ownership. It is still considered a motorcycle.

If you are bringing you motorcycle to Canada from the UK.....you would have to import it into Canada using the RIV process as mentioned earlier.
Just curious, you mentioned that you contacted Tri-Wing....where are they located?
