I picked up the trike at the dealer's yesterday. I spent the whole day riding and enjoying being on a motorcyle again. I came home around dinner time, and surprised my wife by taking her to dinner on the trike. We both love it!

The conversion was done by ABC Harley-Davidson, in Waterford, MI. Its a 2006 FLHTI with a 2012 CSC Daytona kit: Champion reverse, CSC power rake, upgraded brakes and performance suspension. I did some custom touches with powder coat and paint, and pumped up the HP on the motor.

Here are some photos:

She is gorgeous! Congratulations! and you will enjoy the trike more and more as you ride and get even more comfortable with it.

Thats what I'm talkin bout.Looking good and just enough time to get it broke for THE RALLY.Let the fun begin.RIDE SAFE

Thank you Nana, Lucky and Trikermary!

I had another nice long ride this afternoon. I found as many curves in the road as I could, and got a good feel of how the trike handles. I've also practiced panic stops and did some figure 8s in the parking lot to explore some limits. I really like riding this trike! I had overthought the entire trike riding process before I took my first ride. Riding the trike is really very intuitive for me , but I am very conscious that I am on a different breed of cat! The biggest thing I notice is how the camber of the road affects the trike versus a bike...

Thanks, TNTriker. You are quite right, excited like a kid on a date...

Louis, I am really very fortunate to have such a good dealer. They did a great job, and treated me very well. The bike was paid for, and I would not have been happy with the trade in value on a new trike. The conversion was less cash out and suits me well, I think.

I am sure, but you got my vote for trike of the month for May. Love the blacked out wheels. Good on ya. As my family in Ca says "You done your self proud". Enjoy. ThumbUp
Takecare.

That settles it....I've been thinking about powder coating my wheels black......thats AWESOME !! Enjoy your ride !

Thanks, everyone!

Honestly, the blacked out wheels and forks, and the '38 Ford tail lights were my hardest decisions. I went back and forth for a long time. I am very happy with the outcome, and I appreciate the compliments.

Your Trike turned out great, Very Cool! Enjoy reading about your initial Trike riding experiences. Last year about this time Woodstock HD dropped off our new Trike and I can still remember those first rides. 12,000 miles and I'm still smiling. A question on your conversion tail lights, has CSC changed to the ones you have or did you just want that style. Ride Safe!

Thanks for the compliments...I like this trike more and more every day!

Kruzr, The tail lights are not the stock ones from the conversion. I had the dealer order the kit without the CSC tombstone tail lights. I am not a fan of them. The lights I installed are 1938 Ford LED tail lights from Honest Charley's in Chattanooga TN.

Those tail lights of yours look very similar to the ones I have. Always liked that style. ThumbUp

And for those who might like those lights in a super bright LED version can have the same look. There are two different bezels available, plain and flames:

Red teardrop 39 diode LED stop/turn/tail flush mount light

Rich, I like the look of the lights, too. The rounded rear of the trike reminds me of a hot rod, and nothing screams hot rod like '38 Ford tail lights.

Bob, my lights are "super bright LED"; I wish I had seen the ones you found, they are quite a bit cheaper!!

Rick,

Your reference to a Hot Rod is exactly what I was after when I bought my Trike. I had always wanted a Rod Rod and a motorcycle. This trike is the two all rolled up into one unit, lol. ThumbUp

You nailed it, Rich, the trike is a combo bike and hot rod. I have been into bikes and cars since before I was a teen, but never had the time or inclination to have both a car and a bike. The back end of the trike just screamed HOT ROD to me, so I thought I would capitalize on the situation and exploit the hot rod vibe.

Had to chuckle at this - we think our big GW1800 CSC is half motorcycle, half limousine!!!
