Trike Frame Question

Hello All. Newbie question here.

I want to use a Corvair drivetrain for my home built trike. Being a huge Corvair fan is part of it but also because it allows me to have an automatic transmission, which due to my physical limitations is a huge plus.

It may be much easier to find a Corvair engine and transmission that one that the rear suspension is intact and usable.

If I can't find one and have to build a frame from scratch, how much would be involved in using a VW trike frame and convert it fit a Corvair? Are they even close or would it be best to just weld one from scratch?

Thanks for any help.

Big Paul.... I would study your corvair eng/trans mountings, look at the volks trike frames for a reference, and build your own, my .O2 Larry

Thanks Larry, I looked at the frames per your suggestion. By the time I convert the VW mounts to Corvair mounts, I probably could have had a fabricator make the Corvair engine mount portion. Seems if I can have it made for the Corvair it would be far better than modifying another.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I think you can still buy an adapter to mate a corvair engine to a vw trans axle. My bad missed the automatic trans part.
