Way to go Gabe, congrats on getting what you needed for the Honeymoon, it's always good to hear about an outstanding dealer.

I was going to say at 1.300 miles they should step up but had a second cup of coffee and now guess you must have meant 1,300. Punctuation can mean a lot.:D

Gabe, Really glad the dealership came through for you and your new bride. From your report, it appears that the 2018 M8 engines may still have some gremlins that the MOCO is going to have to deal with. One dealer opined to me that the oil pumps on these M8's are not necessarily sufficient to hop them up to Stage 3 or 4 and remain intact. Not sure exactly how he came to that conclusion but apparently some of his customers who have hopped the new M8's up have been having oil problems.

My early 2017 oil pump gave up the ghost in the first 15 miles of operation with the original owner on my TGU. Harley came through and simply replaced the entire engine with a later 2016 factory replacement that now has 6k miles on it and is running beautifully. Seems like the take-away message is that either manufacturing and/or design are adding some woes to Harley's new flagship engine at times. Not sure what the frequency is because our forums tend to exaggerate problems while happy owners generally just go out and ride.

Again, congrats on the marriage and have fun on your honeymoon with that loaner machine!

I've read quote a lot about sumping problems on several of the other enthusiast forums - cvoharley, hdforums, etc., etc. At first it seemed to be the hopped up stage III and IV motors but more and more I'm hearing that bone stock motors are sumpng as well. Bummer and hope they get you fixed up really quickly. Great that they gave you a loaner.
