Trike accident

Well my baby got a little banged up and bruised this weekend while passing through Daytona. I wish I could blame someone else but it was all my fault! Now I have to replace my front fender and forks. I hope that's all the damage other than my pride. I will update with the costs once I get them in case it happens to anyone else.

Remember one thing... Your trike is a thing.. it can and will be repaired... You be safe and learn a little from the accident... It's ok we have all done it.. and will do it again! :wave4:

Such a relief to know you are not injured!!! The trike can be fixed.

Happened to me Thurs eve. Rear ended by a Cougar driving a Jag while on cell phone. She was admiring my trike!! 5,000 damage. Be going to Daytona with busted trunk. No injuries to me or wife.

Yep Mine got hit from behind almost $4000.00 damage then in the front almost $3000.00 damage. Guy just left the eye doctor and had his eyes dilated and was driving a big Dodge Ram P/u. Oh yeah he was in his 70's

I remember seeing signs in some states, "If you hit a road construction worker, it's an automatic $10,000 fine". Why not signs that say, "Hit a motorcycle rider, it's a $10,000 fine.

So......Here's what happened. I was merging onto I-95 from I-4 East from Orlando. I was in awe of all the people at the Daytona 500. I looked at the car in front of me and then to my right. When I looked back all I saw was brake lights. I had to make a choice of swerve down the embankment or hit the brakes. I chose the brakes. I am ok as well as the really nice lady that I rear ended. She immediately asked how I was doing. We were both ok so we exchanged insurance info and went on our way. It is still a bummer.

do you have stock brakes? how did they react? i feel the pferormance machine stage 1 rear brake kit is a big difference in my confidence on the brakes. glad you are getting better.

Just for a heads up, you are lucky not to have police report or they could write you a ticket. Ride Soon And Safe! Its a jungle out there, Ray
PS look for Tri Glide at Daytona Ember Red and Merlot with Duct tape Left lower rear.

I like your thinking.. or if they hit a person on a motorcycle.. they have to ride a vespa for a year. That would put the fear into them and make them open their eyes! ThumbUp

That's the trouble with a trike, you can't say "I had to lay her down to save her". Like that's ever a good choice.

Look at it this way, you can now chrome your fork tubes and do a few other things while the bike is apart.
