My 2012 Tri-Glide is my 5th motorcycle and my 4th Harley. I bought my first Harley (96' 1200 Sportster Sport) in 98' and have been in love ever since. Before my trike I owned a 2009 Streetglide but had to trade due to an injury in Afghanistan. My only option really was a trike and I was very apprehensive. As of today I have almost 10,000 miles and that is what prompted me to write this review. First, I have to say it does take a little getting used to. It's not impossible but nothing can replicate the feeling of two wheels rolling down the highway with some great tunes blasting.
Secondly, I have to say that for the price the MOCO should really include a few more upgrades on the trikes but we all know that will never happen. My three biggest complaints are the heat, the seat and the gas mileage. I believe that Harley could have done much better on all of these. It's not like this is the first year they have made a trike.
I have only had one major problem with it so far. From the beginning my reverse motor never did sound right and then one day it just went out without any warning or anything. I used it to back out of my carport went for a ride and went to back out of a parking spot and it did not work. Fortunately I was able to back myself out even with my hurt leg.
So far, the only things that I have done to my bike are: changed the windshield, added a windshield bag, Vance and Hines slip-ons, stage I ECM, SERT, high flow air cleaner, Rockford Fosgate speakers front and rear, chrome forks, and chrome rear bumper.
I plan on adding the Ipod interface, tourpak luggage rack, and chrome wheels.
Overall, I have to say that I am very pleased with the bike. I ride a lot for the amount of time that I actually have to ride. I have read many critiques for and against it but as I said, overall I am pleased.
