Does anyone know what the 4 bolt holes are for that are located on the underneath side of the lower trunk. While I was under mine installing the bumper I noticed the 4 threaded holes. They are on all 4 corners of the lower underneath frame. My plans are to install a cooler rack with them if anyone thinks I shouldn't let me know.

Those are where most trailer hitches attach.....even though the MOCO says not to tow.

Yep....trailer hitch mounting holes. The MOCO has not gotten around to plugging those up yet. I am sure it is a carry-over from Lehman. Harley probably has a team of engineers and a focus group working on how to figure out how they can reconcile the fact the hitch mountings are there, but will void a warranty if you pull a trailer.

Go Figure!

Those four holes are used to mount the triglide trunk rail kit. If you choose not to add this accessory then I would think you could use them to mount a hitch. Enjoy the winter
