Tri-Glide with IRS and better brake's

I am from Chicago and went over to DFT Trikes In Addison over the weekend.
They have a Tri-Glide that they have made a converstion kit for that will put IRS under it. The kit will remove all of the straight axle, than a DFT center gets bolted in with the IRS set up. The kit also will have new read discs and brackets to replace the stock 9.5" with 10 7/8" discs.

I did ride it and it is so much better over RR tracks and uneven patch work and pot holes.

The new discs also make it stop as it should have from the factory.

They are going to sell the kit and also just the Brake kit to fit the stock Tri-Glide.

Well, that's interesting! I gather it is going to be available to TriGlide owners? or is it only for dealers to install?
BTW, welcome to TrikeTalk!

welcome aboard. thanks for the update. DFT is a great company.

In essence it is not a tri- glide -champion any more it is DFT sounds like a lot better set up....No reflection on the tri- glide owners but one of the reasons I didn't buy a glide is because Harley hi jacked champions design to build there try glide....

I believe Lehman was the unit high-jacked for the TG, not Champion:Shrug:
Do not believe DFT will sell many of these units, expecting the buyers of TG's to then spend thousands more to convert to IRS and causing the only Trike w/factory warranty to be voided!

Yes you are right it was Lehman,.. The motor trike kit comes with a 2 year on the trike kit....

Yes, most conversions come w/warranty but, as soon as you convert you basically void the major part of any warranty you may have on the bike part.
For example, on my Wing, if I had a drive train failure, any warranty claim would be denied. As would any front suspension claims since a rake kit has been installed.

I think it will be a Dealer only install for now, but you could call DFT and ask if they will send out just the kit.

Warranty......we all live in that problem! I change my bike in anyway and a factory can say no warranty on whole bike. Been that way for my 45 years of ownership.

Lehman was the "labor force" to build it, all of the parts had been outsourced by Harley and sent to Lehman to be built. That whole Lehman / Harley deal was one big mess and Lehman was the loser in the end.

+1 After spending the coin on a Triglide I couldn't see removing most of the back half just to have independent suspension. Looking at the pictures the brake hardware or at least the calipers look like stock HD pieces that come on the TG.
