Tri-Glide Bumper

Howdy all,

I'm going to be installing a rear bumper on my 2019 Tri-Glide & I'm looking for any tips/hints/suggestions on a painless as possible install. Thank you in advance. Ride safe my friends.

Ya need a helper to hold it up till ya get at least one support bolt on each end.

Thats after ya jack up the rear for access!

I did have a friend help hold it up while I got the bolts started. But I did not jack up the trike and had plenty of room.

Bumper

Easy install. It helps to have a helper. I installed mine myself with little difficulty.

I backed mine up on 2x12 pieces of lumber to get another 1 1/2" of room under there and it was fine (don't have a mcy jack). You can do it yourself but it certainly is easier with a third hand.

I Have A Jack

I have a jack but it's for my Road King. Any idea if it would work for the Tri-Glide?

I ride rear tires up my car ramps and then set wheel chocks. Lay down my moving blankets which gives me lots of clearance to work comfortably underneath the rear of the trike. Also use the ramps when I want to do a good cleaning underneath the rear. I do stuff newspaper wads in the mufflers to keep out excess water.

Note of Caution : Do not advise using car ramps if you're not comfortable using clutch control, friction zone and throttle control going up steep inclines. I also use entry rugs with non-skid backing underneath the ramps to prevent them from moving.

Clean out the dried loc-tite out of stationary nuts for easier installation of longer bolts.

Thanks I bought my 2016 Tri-Glide after my bone cancer gave me no choice, can't hold up a 2 wheeler anymore. Never rode one but have good friends who love them and they recommended getting the rear bumper. I also installed a rider adjustable back rest and so far I love that. I have 3 broken vertebra in my back so need something to lean on. Looking forward to the warmer weather here in Orlando to start learning to ride the Tri-Glide.

I did mine all by myself. I used car ramps and drove the back wheels up. The I slid under the back and with the bumper on my stomach, I bolted it in place. It was about a 10 minute install. Very easy job.
