transport csc cobra xl 06 GL1800 trike

Would a 6x12 cargo trailer be adequate for transporting the trike across country.Or can anyone recommend a reliable moving company,or had a trike transported before. Open to all suggestions. Thanks!!:Dorag:

You could always buy me a one way plane ticket, point me in the right direction and then 'hide & watch' as they say. :D  :) :clapping: :D

I've got a 6 x 12 with fold up ramp, that I've moved motorcycles all over the country. I used it when I bought my trike down in south Texas, as it was not registered or stickered. I've had no problems. Some worry about thrown gravel (a valid concern) but with a 1/2 ton pick up with regular tires I have never had that problem. Could be some luck involved, too.

But, I'd not hesitate to move mine in that trailer.

If you have an adequate tow vehicle and a solid wood floor. ( I have the Lowe's $1099 6x 10. I carry my 1500 DFT trike on it. Word of caution do not put a cover on it.

I do not believe you can easily get your trike thru the rear door of a 6' CARGO trailer since the actual opening will be around 62", or at least that is what mine is. You will need to move up to a 7'. The 12 ' long will be ok. You will find getting the trike into and then working around it to tie it down much easier with the 7' width.

I have a 6 X 12 trailer that I can get my Champion trike in. I have about an inch or so clearance on the sides because of the cables on the ramp/door. The only thing about the 7 foot trailers are that most are 2 axle and a lot more weight.

I own one of these TK1 Aluma Trailers and they are perfect, light weight, tye downs in the right place, axle in the correct location storage in the tongue storage box, takes 10 minutes to get loaded and tyed down and it never moves around.... found mine as a dealer closeout 2013 model for 2200.00 ...
I have an 8'x 16' enclosed but to heavy and kills your gas mileage, this one I pull with my 1/2ton pickup with a 4.6L and get 18 - 20 mpg at 60 - 65 MPH!! at 70 - 75 I drop to 16 - 18 MPG.... search around they are out there but at times hard to find....

It will fit all trikes that are converted....:pepper:

Thanks for the information, but my concern with the tk1 trailer, is the ramp, would it be wide enough to load a cobra XL trike. What model do you have.the widest ramp on the tk1 trailer is 57inches, the cobra trike is 61inches.

I have a Roadsmith and it is 60" Body width, your Cobra is 61" Body width and my neighbors Hannigan is also 61" body width the tire center line is really about 56" on all of these. I have hauled all brands of trikes on this trailer as the ramp is 57 ish almost 58" and I have never come close to running off the ramp. I hook it up level to my truck and then jack the tongue up to get a better angle and tighten up all connections so when I pull on the trailer it is all stable and pull it in the wheel chock and leave it in 1st. Get off and lower the jack to level again and stow, get out the quik tye downs and nylon straps and place 1 strap on each forward engine guard and hook on the tye down and snug. At the rear I use 2 nylon tye straps thru each wheel and run the quik tye down thru the straps and back to the bed tye down and snug. Drive 25 miles and re-snug and forget until you arrive. I also use 3" long 1\4" hitch pin locks instead of the spring pins that came with the trailer to lock the ramp to the trailer / to easy to steal otherwise..

BUT it will all work fine.... the front storage is nice to keep all your parts in one spot,,, after you get it waterproofed... a gasket around the lid and Silicone to seal the inside and its done.... no water down the road!!!
