I am headed to sturgis in a few weeks with my new to me 23 Freewheeler. It’s about 1,600 miles each way. I did a 525 mile shakedown ride Saturday to the tail of the dragon to make sure I could do 500+ mile days.

I need to organize packing still. This is what I have done for comfort/safety to get ready to travel. Any other suggestions?

Mustang seat and backrest.
Highway bar
Advanblack lowers
Highway pegs
Dk floorboard extensions
Design Engineering heat shield
Passing lights wired into the factory harness
Luggage rack
Phone and bottle holder
Chinese 7” CarPlay

Get rid of anything that can block airflow to the engine in the inevitable traffic jam in 100° weather and pack like your going hiking. Here's my touring setup for the last 38,000

May I suggest cooling towels. But you soak them with water and put it around your neck when riding in hot weather. They last about an hour or more if you put them under your shirt.
they work well.
Yeah, I ordered a cooling vest and I soak my neck gators too

I’ve got an Alaskan sheepskin on my Freewheeler covering my Mustang seat and have a Harley “Circulator” seat pad covering my Harley Signature Series seat on my Heritage.

I prefer the Circulator pad but my Wife prefers the sheepskin with a Harley Road Zeppelin cushion under it.

So since we generally take the Freewheeler for 2-up riding the sheepskin stays on the Freewheeler.

If you have not already done so,consider a breather bypass. Your motor will run cooler. Also the DK Customs oil filter relocation kit. IDK about those lowers..seems they block air.Ok for winter but summer and extended riding...! Old trucker tip: always fuel before shutting down for the night. You may want to invest in HD's locking gas cap. A lowlife scumbag poured a slushy into a Roadking tank ...lots of loony tunes out there.

I put the lowers on after riding in the rain one time it wasn’t the rain that soaked me. It was road spray.

Why so many miles each day ?
I always stayed flexible on miles , depending on fatigue, weather and actual enjoyment.
Remember" there is a fine line between adventure and ordeal "
From all your mod's it almost looks like you are trying to spend yourself to poverty

Some of us still work and 10 days is all we have. Three days up three days back, and 4 days seeing what we can see
