After reading through my new Trike manual it seems that a torque wrench is in my future. So what are you guys using that wrench on your own, I was thinking that I'll probably need both a 1/2 and a 3/8 one? We have a Harbor Freight about 10 minutes from the house that I was going to take a look at.

I've not had a need for a half inch drive torque wrench yet. As long as your 3/8" has the torque rating you can use adapters to get the sockets on.

Depending on what level of wrenching you plan to do, an inch pound torque wrench will come in handy. I don't use mine often but when needed there is no substitute.

I wouldn't have a problem using Harbor Freight. Mine happen to be Craftsman. For occasional use either are OK..... :xszpv::xszpv:

I also have a inch pound wrench. Most of the stuff we remove requires it. I've heard lots of debate over brand name vs hf and others. Most say the hf is just as accurate. I have husky because of the guarantee

if you get into some serious work on your bike the 1/2 will come up as needed

I'm a bit of a tool junkie, from left to right. Snap on 1/4 inch drive 10 in/lbs - 50 in/lbs, Snap on 1/4" drive 50 in/lbs - 200 in/lbs, Craftsman 3/8 drive 50 in/lbs - 250 in/lbs, Craftsman 3/8 drive in ft/lbs and a Craftsman 1/2" drive in ft/lbs.

Thanks everyone for your input, looks like I'll get 2 of em, one in inches and a 3/8 in foot pounds, not planning on anything major.
