Ease of access will depend on year model (the output shaft on the motorcycle has different lengths depending on year model. You may be able to get to it by simply removing the right chrome engine cover. For other bikes, it may be necessary to access from underneath or by removing the driveshaft.

As a word of "advice" however... Depending on the amount of riding you do & conditions I recommend you remove the driveshaft assembly from the bike and inspect the joints up close & in your hand as part of your "deeper" maintenance. It's nearly impossible to fully check the u-joints still in a vehicle unless they're REALLY bad; but in your hand, you can feel movement & signs of wear that can't be seen/felt with it still in the motorcycle.
