At my post, the non vets wear a patch on the back of their vests that says squadron. Not sure of the significance, but it designates a non veteran.

It's on a Sunday this year. I recommend you make sure you have one for your Trike and go do a picnic or something with like-minded family and friends.

Enjoy and God Bless America all during the year! :pepper: aj

:Agree: Thanks for reminding folks! ThumbUpThumbUpThumbUp

Except for really bad weather I fly the flag 24/7 right out my front door. Same thing with my bikes and now trikes.

I retired from the Air Force and moved back to San Angelo a little over 26 years ago. Except for BAD weather my flag is proudly flow in the front lawn and has flown on every bike I've owned.

GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!!!!

Keystone, I have made that a habit since 9-11. As a Navy Vet from the Vietnam "Conflict" I am trying to set an example for many or my neighbors who don't even have a flag or if they do they don't fly it ever. Now if it is for a college or something they definitely fly those ALL the time. ;) I have the flag on both our homes, I had it on my Road King, Ultra, Ultra CVO and now my Trike. All the best! Sully, I will always remember those that did and did not come back. Many of the returning wounded stopped at the US Army Hospital on Guam while I was serving aboard subs pre-May 1976. We'd make the bus driver honk and we'd wave on our way from Anderson AFB on the south end of the island to the Navy base on the north end of the island.

I saw many a small boat stuffed to the gills with humanity come into Aphra Harbor, Guam, with Vietnamese escaping after the fall. As over packed as each of these boats were with refugees I often wonder how many boats sank and did not make it as far as Guam?

Ease up guys. Both my parents were WWII vets so I qualified to join the Legion as an SAL (Sons of American Legion). I didn't serve in Viet Nam because of my draft classification. I have two sons that were Navy and one Army, so it runs in the family.

I have been a member of the SAL and Sons of Confederate Veterans, based on my heritage. I was always accepted into all AL activities, volunteered on committees, and helped at the club whenever possible.

I've always respected and acknowledged the incredible sacrifices and bravery of the men and women who served in our military. Not one person in my post ever questioned my patriotism, loyalty to my country or pride in the people who have served.

Being a Rider has been an honor. I am allowed to wear pretty much the same patches as any other AL member, with the exception that I also identify myself as an SAL member and can't have certain military insignia indicating branch of service, combat unit, etc.

Or maybe it's a regional thing. Seems that folks from up North have an entirely different view on who is a patriot and who is a dirtbag. Southerners went through this crap in the 1800s. Y'all call it the "Civil War", but my family has always referred to it as "The War of Northern Aggression", which is closer to the truth than the history books propaganda tries to make you think.

("Politically Correct" is an old Stalin era Communist term, by the way)

Jackbobg - tnaks for clarifying how you are able to be a part of your American Legion Post and all fpr sharing all that you do to support this great organization as does "hogcowboy". As a Navy veteran we thank you for what you do and keep doing!

By the way, I think more of us need to remind Americans who it was that really coined "politically correct" and ask the promoters why the heck are so many people and organizations all trying to by "PC" instead of telling those pushing the agenda to "stuff it" and shut their pie hole! Just sayin' AJ

Thanks Veritas44 you said it all very well especially for those who gave all!
Thanks Uncle Frank (O-2/WWII, Army Air)
Thanks Uncle Lyman (E-4/ WWII, Army)
Thanks Dad (E-3/ Korea, Army)

Actress Jane Fonda, who 45 years ago as making the lives worse for Americans fighting for their life in the jungles of Vietnam, is now making lives worse for American energy producers. Given the fight Fonda now has against North American oil discovery and transportation, she has once again aided and abetted the enemy: Islamic oil producers. It seems Jihadi Jane neither understands how her actions are viewed by the enemy (major Muslim oil exporters, some of whose core members want to see the destruction of the United States) nor how these anti-jobs protests impact hundreds of thousands of North American families. Sully - she will never quit until she's gone but at least one thing to note above her and her "ilk" is when I was a submariner and she used to protest about nuclear or coal fire power plants she would get more radiation from the SUN while doing so that I ever did on the submarine underway.

Maybe think of this way, if you reminded the towel heads overseas that they might end up with Jane as one of there rewards after trying to kill the innocents and our brave protectors maybe that would enough to get them to quit or may just try to take her out!?!?!?! :D

Just sayin!

If guns are really so bad, wouldn't you think several deserving targets would have been taken care of by now? These people have know idea the restraint that must be going on with some that are just about fed up. There are some very lucky people still wasting good air.

I didn't know Barbarella was still at it. I lived through the Hanoi Jane era, she was a traitor. Jane just likes to be in the spotlight, the problem is some people believe the crap she spews. When I see Jane driving a Geo Metro I might be more inclined to believe she is sincere about saving the planet.

I'll never forget the evening when I sat in my own living room to watch the news and witnessed the NVA tanks roll into Saigon. It made me cry for all the brothers we'd lost for nothing. It felt worse than when we all got laid off from the one and only job I ever truly loved.
