To All Our Vets...

"If" I can get my knee over my trike, which I think I can, we are going to head to the Nat'l Cemetery in Rittman Ohio. It is a beautiful location and tribute to those who served. My husband's parents, both veterans, are buried there.

Reader1 please thank your husband for his parents service to this great nation. Thank You from the people of Indiana...............

Trikerslave - I will do that - he also served - 101st Airborne - Vietnam 1970. We were able to go for a ride today, but since I didn't want the crowds at the Nat'l Cemetery today for their ceremony, we are going tomorrow.

Vietnam...1971...my friends and Brothers in Arms that gave their all....I salute you, I mourn for you, I thank you. Not a day goes by that I don't think of that war and these guys........

With all the love I have to muster I thank all the women and men that gave their all for us in all wars to help mold this nation and keep it free.

As one who did serve -- THANK YOU FOR REMEMBERING !!!!

The sun will be coming up soon here in San Angelo and I'll be mounting my flag on it's pole out front. Then I'll say a special prayer just for all my fallen brothers. Some I called "Friend" - Some I can only honor their memory.

GOD's SPEED...... :Angel::Angel::Angel:

We just got home from the Western Reserve Nat'l Cemetery. The commemoration event was yesterday, but today there were hundreds of people. Many, many bikes and trikes. So glad to see so many people honoring those who served. So glad our military and veterans are finally recognized and honored. All "trikers" who served, thank you so much.

Happy Veterans' Day to all who served, and who are presently serving. My dad was a tail gunner during WW II. My husband served in the 101st Airborne Infantry, (Screaming Eagles) in Vietnam.

Heartfelt appreciation to our active military and to all veterans who have sacrificed so much on behalf of freedom! We can never thank you enough!

Thank you in memory of my dad (Royal Canadian Air Force--WWII) and my father-in-law (US Navy glide pilot--WWII). And a special thank you to my son-in-law (US Marine--Desert Storm).

Thanks vets! My dad was 101st Airborne in the Pacific, Philippines, and Korea. It was a private hell for him, and if we asked about the war, he made sure we did not ask a second time. Most that say "thanks for what you gave our country" don't have any idea what a fighting soldier sacrifices.

I went on my first mission today.I was really nervous that I would embarrass the group or myself, but it went really well. The family appreciated us being there. It seemed I was doing so little for one that did so much.RIDE SAFE

Thank you for doing that, Lucky! I know it meant a lot to the family and was also a blessing for you.

Thank you for doing this. I've done about 40 missions so far. Some are harder than others. We've made some great friends through the PGR. The younger vets are the hardest. Last Tuesday was a 26 year old Marine. Even though it was natural causes it was still so hard.
We've also gotten involved with the State Vets Home. We took some of the wheel chair vets to a lake for fishing. Last week we took a group from the home to a Diamondbacks baseball game.
After the fishing outing we took all the fishing gear from the Vets home and greased and oiled 18 rods and reels and put all new line and terminal tackle and put together a tackle box for them. My neighbor came by as I was working on them and said this was a nice thing I was doing. I told him it was kind of selfish as I get more out of it then I give. :)

We, in the B.P.O.E (Elks) do a lot of things for the Vets. Bingo, trips, cookouts and visits. It is great to go and help with the people who made this country free for all of us.
That is a great thing to do to honor our Vets.
Thank you for being there for them.

Regards,

Rosy

If I should wind up keeping my Trike, once I'm retired next year I plan to attend as many PGR missions as I can in the VA area.

A friend of mine got me involved about 4 years ago. I have done many missions since then, of all sorts, Welcome Home, Funerals, Honor flights, and deployments. I still consider it an honor to just be there. I'll continue doing them as long as I can.

I know we have members here that are also PGR.I have not been a member long, but it is very humbling to participate in these rides. For those of you who do not know most of the PGR rides are vet.funerals.The best ones are welcome home rides for returning vets. What I am really trying to get at is the amount of KIA rides there are.We are loosing a lot of brave soldiers everyday. If you know one or meet one on the street please say thank you.RIDE SAFE

Amen, Lucky.
I was the ride captain last week for an Vet who survived his time in the sand box only to be fatally injured falling off a roof. He graduated from a rival high school the same year I did..1984. It was our honor to stand for him.

We get daily requests for rides. I wish I had the time and $ to take off and honor each and every one. I'm glad that America is recognizing what "ULTIMATE SACRIFICE" means so they can enjoy their freedom. SEMPER FI..

Last weekend the PGR here was meeting a bunch of Marines coming home from Afghanistan to escort them to their reunions with their families at Camp Pendleton.

Unfortunately the ride captain, Gunny a former Marine and the leader of the So Cal PGR group, was hit by a car during the 2AM escort.

He sustained a broken arm and some other minor injuries as well as a totaled bike.

When you ride BE CAREFUL !
