I know it's a struggle but if you can manage to get the outside of it off, inside is the old regular screw off lid that's much easier to use.

All you have to is to put the cap on upside-down...

When I tried that with the VA, that's how I learned about the easy open cap under the child proof cap. Leave it to the gov't to complicate everything it gets its hands on.

OP, so true. I know you're discussing prescription bottles, but it's more pervasive. You can't get into anything these days you buy that are medical related OTC meds. Scissors, sharpe knife to even get in there, and then you risk a shoulder injury trying to separate the plastic. It's just been the past 5 yrs or so, maybe longer. It might be to keep people from poisoning products. It's not for safety. I risk fingers every time I open something.

The heavy plastic blister packages aren't for safety... There made to make it harder for thieves to remove the product from the packages in the stores.... And for less loss in shipping...

If it puts up too much of a struggle to open, I find a hammer works well.... :Joker3:

My Pharmacy has a top that has "hooks/tabs" under the cap - press, turn, it's off.
